Guild Wars 2

Somebody over at the german forum mentioned that guildwars.com doesn’t work for him so I thought i would give it a try and it looks like the gw.com webserver has some issues.

When I try to connect to it, Chrome shows a “This webpagee is not availavlie. ERR_CONNECTION_RESET”-Screen. Firefox throws a “Secure Connection Failed” and Internet Explorer shows a “This page can’t be displayed – Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2” (which are turned on) error.

I then tried some webservices like https://www.url2png.com/, https://screenshotmachine.com/ (error) and http://www.shrinktheweb.com/ (works) to see if they can access the page and take a screenshot of it.

The only thing that I can see is, that http://guildwars.com loads and returns a 302-HTTP header, redirecting to the https-site which then fails to load.

In case someone from the US tries to verify the error: It happens only if you try to connect from Germany (or probably Europe), because the DNS name resolution seems to be location-specific.

If you connect from the US, you get the IP address 64.25.40.54 for www.guildwars.com. This server, located in the US, is working fine!
If you connect from Europe, you get the IP address 64.25.47.11 for www.guildwars.com. This server, located in Europe, exhibits the error!

Screenshotmachine gives the error, because this service is located in Europe.
shrinktheweb is able to retrieve www.guildwars.com, because this service is located in the US.
