They have not announced a date and price yet. So no one in the public knows anything for sure yet about anything to do with the next expansion.

Hopefully by the end of the year. But if you ask me, they can take as much time as they need as long as the content provides excellence story-wise. Don’t want any more of what is currently going on. I miss the actual GW2, for if I wanted a new game I would play something else…

Rumor is before 2018 but probably barely if they stick to the 2-3 month window of releasing last LW3 episode and then expansion after that. And they’ve said that 2-3 month window could be stretched for this last episode and what comes after that. So nothing but conjecture at this point. Anet has said they will talk about what’s next after living world 3 wraps up so we should know most of what is going on by end of August I’d think.

According the AMA on Reddit, episode 6 will arrive in approx 3 months time, with the expansion and s4 ep 1 following the same approx 3 month cycle (allowing for potentially a small extra time on top of the 3months).

If they stick to that, the expac will be autumn

My thoughts are Christmas or early next year. They said a larger time gap between episode 6 and the expansion. Episode 6 is July or August, expansion will be at least 4-6 months after that.

“He shall make whole that which was torn asunder.
Restore that which was lost. And all shall be as one.”

I agree with Warcry. It will either be around Christmas (holiday releases can be fairly popular, would be a great way to boost income despite having a lower price than HoT did), or early 2018.

If you guys go back and read the notes from the AMA, it’s just like Randulf said above. 2-3 months from Ep5 to Ep6, 2-3 months from Ep6 to Expac. And the possible extra time was after the release of the Expac and before the start of Season 4.

I did… Mike said this:

But we’ll make some allowance for the fact that shipping an expansion pack is a big deal logistically and will probably take longer than the 2~3 months we normally allocate between episodes

Meaning between 6 and expansion will be longer.

“He shall make whole that which was torn asunder.
Restore that which was lost. And all shall be as one.”

I don’t know. I think that statement could go either way…or both ways. It wasn’t very clear on where the “longer than the 2-3 months” would be. Is the “episode(s)” he is referring to Living World Season Three Episode 6 or Living World Season Four Episode 1? Or both?

But, he also said “shipping an expansion is a big deal logistically”, so I guess that would point more to before than after. I’m still not sure. I’m guessing a bit of both.

Yeah, I still read it the same way. I’ll agree that it can go both ways thought. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

I don’t think we are disagreeing. I even stated it looks like more ‘before’ than ‘after’. Though, to temper expectations, I’m thinking a bit of both. =)
