gw2 scenery
Lovely photos. I recognise your third photo as that beautiful hidden area in The Grove (I think). I was so amazed when I found it. Such a gorgeous place tucked away like that. It is a beautiful game for sure.
funny, i don’t see much of a scenery to be found in GW2, just a bunch of rushed detail with no place to take a breather.

Funny, I don’t see any rushed things at all. Only beautiful places where you can have fun at your own phase.

Are you using SweetFX?
Are you using SweetFX?
Nope I just have all my graphics on max.
All wallpaper material.

Go to Timberline Falls. It’s one of my favourite areas during exploration
Still wish they’d change the camera angle and/or FOV in a way that you can get a good look at your immediate area, but also have a nice view of the scenery. The horizon, the sky, the roofs of caverns and whatever else.
There’s so much pretty happening over your head that you just miss, because the camera doesn’t allow you to see it during normal gameplay.
Priorities, what to do?
Spend hours with dye
It’s a beautiful game, if only we could get them to make the under-the-hood-mechanics of the game as beautiful as the scenery and add some real casual elements it would be fantastic.

lol, i use sweetFX and it still doesn’t do it, it makes GW1 look like a next gen game especially around the asura areas.
sure, i might be nitpicking it to much but as an environmental artist, this is really nothing special when so much can be improved.
I remember when I found this place short after launch.
I just stood there for at least 1 hour and admired the view
A lot of places are dull and has no heart. But every so often when doing world exploration, you stumble upon something and wonder why the rest of the game can’t have that beauty.
Yes – I consider it the most beautiful game in the business
GW2 is a game that tends to look better in screenshots than it does in motion. They also have the benefit of hiding the failings of the world as a whole (such as there probably being a scout or settlement within 5Ø feet in the direction the camera isn’t facing).
If the game could legitimately maintain the feel of scope, isolation, and majesty that many of these screenshots convey, I’d be a lot more impressed. Obsidian Sanctum and the crypt in Dredgehaunt are the only places that really come close to what I’d have liked to see throughout the game (and they had to ruin Obsidian Sanctum what with the whole PvP kitten). :-(
A shame fun things could not simply be fun.
I really hope that they will someday finish privet gardens.

Are we playing the same game? Probably my single favorite thing about this game is how good it looks in motion. It makes other MMORPGs look really silly and clunky by comparison.
Now I’m not saying anything about the depth, accessibility, fun factor, or anything like that; let’s leave those to other threads. But purely visually? Oh my god does this game look so much better than other MMOs.

And I think that GWII looks just as good, if not better than that game.
Sorry to tell you this, but just because you don’t like something it doesn’t mean that said thing is bad.

Wow, now I am inspired to go out, explore, and find areas that I would like to take pictures from.
