gw2 should branch off to a 2.1 or something
A branched MMO couldn’t work…
When SAB was released, there were alot of raging threads how the content introduced was childish and not real. When new content is released, people complain about how Anet should re-work their existing systems before bringing up new ones. When old systems get re-worked, people complain that Anet should forget the old and focus on new stuff. When Anet brings up new stuff, people complain that the old things were better.
Now, the changes that Anet have brought doesn’t need to be good. There is alot of flaws, yes. GW2 needs a huge content update in the form of an expansion, yes. However, the belief that the playerbase will be happy is rather an illusion. It is just a cycle. The day this cycle ends IS NOT when GW2 becomes better. It is rather when the game gets inactive to the point that only the fully dedicated members are left (which is the case for many games).
Complaints are healthy as long as the company does something. And while alot of people do believe that Anet is doing nothing, the game has been running very smoothly for three years, both population and profit-wise. Meaning, that with a single expansion, GW2 will just be good enough to run 1-3 more years without any issues.
Compared to the big mess that we have in the MMORPG industry, there is no need to change the system here as long as it works.
PS. This, assuming an expansion is going to be announced somewhere next year, otherwise, while the game won’t die anytime soon, it would become a tad less active. Anet has alot of options and the game is running smoothly. GW2 is not even close to a bad situation where Anet needs to do something so drastic. GW2 is one of the west’s most profitable MMORPGs today and it is probably the most commercially successful release since WoW in 2014. A twist here and there are enough to keep the game well and running with its’ popularity.

So you’d have two really volatile forums complaining instead of one. Good thought there.
Then please devs branch this game off to be more like gw1 bc i see tons of posts asking for this.
Guild Wars 1 is still there, and can be purchased on Steam.
But let us that want the pavilion, sab, mounts, gvg, housing, horde mode, or whatever it is that would do soooooooooooooo much better than what we have now.
More permanent content would be great. I’d love to see the Crown Pavilion and the Super Adventure Box come back to stay.
Mounts and housing are terrible ideas, though. It’s been discussed far too many times already. You can go play any other mediocre MMO if you want these isolating features, but I’d prefer something that brings players together instead of keeping them apart.
ArenaNet’s lack of a clear roadmap, or overall communication with its playerbase about future plans, has been a huge issue for the past years, and the team has been making efforts to get in touch with us (see the Collaborative Development Initiative, or CDI). Still, it’s going to be a while before these changes get to us.
All we can do right now is hope for the best, and be prepared for the worst.
i hope ppl realise that the complains doesnt reflect all of the community…
the ppl who are happy with the updates will not complain and also will do little to praise
the ppl who are unhappy with the updates will complain a lot
so, u see more complain posts than praising posts
however, i also wonder if anet is able to obtain accurate information of what majority wants….

I introduced an idea, instead of just complaining, i personally dont care too much of what haopens bc im having a blast on ps4 with destiny and dragon age. It just sucks that i only play on guild missions night for 35 minutes and thats getting boring.
All the time i put into gw2 i just wish i could get into it again so i gave some examples of what would be nice, constructivly. Good day guardians
Whether or not the alternate version of the game that you’re suggesting would be great, having an alternate version would be a big problem. They’d end up dividing their playerbase into two wildly different games. There might be some population bump if they add a bunch of new features as you’re suggesting, but it would still be divided over two incompatible worlds, and that’s a problem for an MMO.
Not to mention the resources question. I don’t think there are the resources available that would be needed to fork the game this way and sustain development on both versions. They’d have to dramatically scale back the Living World releases in the original version to develop and maintain the alternate version, and then each version is going to get fewer updates than the current version to keep them both progressing.
If they had the resources to add housing and GvG, they’d do so in the main game. “Fork the game” isn’t a practical, or even useful, solution to several of the things suggested.
