gw2 skill bar/combat
Short answer: no.
*They haven’t even balanced a 10 skill system yet.
*Where would these skills even be bound by default? ‘The first line of letters’ isn’t a good answer, and not everyone has a 12 button mouse.
*To keep the current HUD balanced in appearance, they would need to add at least 3 slot skills. They sure seem like they want their HUD to stay as it is.
*Traits would have to be re-worked again to allow for the extra combinations opened up by these extra slot skills. (The ability to trait for glamours and mantras simultaneously on a mesmer, for example.) Otherwise there’s no reason for this at all, since each class only gets at max, what, 4 skills in each category, not counting elites?
What would new skills add? They’d probably be the same mechanics with different window dressing. If you had ten skills on each weapon then either some of the skills would be the same, or you’d have every ability (blast, leap, projectile, interrupt etc) on one weapon, and weapon choice and weapon swap would be meaningless.
What problem(s) would adding more skills solve and how would it solve them?
Please include as much detail as possible.
A limited number of slots means that at least in theory you have to think about what skills to use and when. I know that isn’t always the case or even most of the time in PvE but more skill slots is more likely to more further away from that rather than closer.
