halloween event
Minipets and weapons are relatively easier to drop into the game. Making new dungeons and maps and stuff is a lot more work because it requires playtesting. There’s a lot of dynamic systems at work and more things can go wrong. I would love to see some new content though, even if its just a simple mini quest with some mad king lore.
while it be nice to have some new things add to this event . honestly I do not see it happen at all . not to say the drevs can not pull a trick or too .but think this year they will keep it like last year at best should it come back to the game . in the mean time
better save up on your candy corns and corn cobs
I have to admit, I am surprised that the holiday events do not follow under the same priority as the living world. These are planned events that always fall at the same time which makes them more strict in release schedules, but they are events that make one MMO stand out from others. And since a big selling point of GW2 is the ever evolving world it would seem prudent to make sure these events also change over time so that they too “live”. And now that GW2 is working under a new cadence I don’t think the player base would see it as a miss if that release of the living world was spent on “holiday” events. At least for the Halloween and Christmas events.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
On the contrary we actually lost an event. Some of you may remember the Lunatic Inquisition game we used to have for Halloween, where some players would be ghosts and you’d have to chase down and kill the enemy team of villagers. If all villagers died ghosts won, any villagers that lived the whole time would win though. It was my favorite mini game in GW but tragically they seem to have discontinued it. =(

That’s probably my most favorite mini game. I enjoyed being a ghost and hunting players down as they attempted to hide (or flee).
I remember Lunatic Inquisition, it was my favourite Halloween minigame, It seems strange this last year that I can only do Dement Clocktower, if they really stop that event, it’s a shame, a real shame… The first Time I discovered Halloween events, I expected from ghost doors to make us travel to an gigantic explorable map… But that’s not the case: A small lobby with now only one activity instead of two.

We actually lost two events – there was a PvP map the first year that I can’t remember the name of, but it was quite fun. And, of course, the quest chain for the Mad Memoirs back piece never came back (so we lost 3 events, sort of)
Honestly, what I miss the most is the decorations. With Old L.A. the decorations fit the earthy, gritty aesthetic of the city. They were spooky. The new L.A. paizza area is too sanitized to sport that look and we now just get wagons full of candy corn. The only festival they hold in L.A. and they didn’t plan for it to integrate into the existing Halloween aesthetic. Water under the bridge there, but I much preferred the haunted house feel to the children’s party look. that first year was magic. Now … not so much. Some of that is familiarity, but not all of it by a long shot.
Yep I definitly prefer the old Lion’s Arch, you can still see her in some personnal story instances, so when it happens; I don’t make instance tasks and visit.
