mines bouncing between, 40-200kbs at the moment, lol 1% in 5 minutes or so, it does tend to pick up thou usually.

Does Anet use direct download or a torrent based download/upload system?

Woah… I started downloading with 1,2MB/s and got 250MB quickly, now it’s down to 5KB/s. Their CDN is dying It’ll take forever at that speed

Sigh… connection error, retrying… I didn’t mean that literally.

/e: reconnected, shortly back to decent speeds, now it’s dying again….seems they’re using Cloudfront which is part of AWS.

Ahh in that case its impossible to tell how long its going to take, the first 2 files could be 1Gb each and the rest down in a flash!

From what I gathered with previous patches, the % applies to the amount of files you have downloaded, not the amount of data.

So the first few files could (and usually seem to) be big ones followed by a ton of little files that download very quickly.

Yeh I know (and Ive thought it was really stupid to do it that way since GW1) but still, its looking kind of big. They must have preloaded a lot of the upcoming event assets in this patch or something.

My download just started. I’m surprised I got home from work JUST in time for this. I am EXCITE BIKE.

My patcher currently reads 30%, 800mb, 1.75mbps, 3,800 file remaining

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

I was doing the battle For Claw Island. Over halfway through, it came up on the screen and said 55 minutes to restart. OK, I thought. Plenty of time so I carried on. About ten minutes later, about 30 seconds from the end of the quest I got booted for a restart.

Top tip Anet: Don’t tell people they have 55 minutes then cut them off after ten. It’s bloody annoying!

There loads of people trying to download the patch at once, remember everybody got booted of the servers because you have to download it. In this case a lot of people are downloading it at once so it’s going to take a while.

Are most of you guys in the US, cause im in EU and on 50Mb connections and my download hasent gone above 250Kbs,

NICE! They added a quest log thing for the Daily at the upper right, so we can keep track of it like it was an event or story quest!

Though strangely I can’t find the start event for that new Region Quest…it online, or is it not finished yet?
