I started to wonder today on how the devs actually complete this content. What strategy did they have in mind when they created the content. Stuff like the claw of jormag seems to be cleared reliably by stacking. Shatterer is so easy I would like to see what they wanted it to be like.

Things are easy because they are 3 years old, or.close too, I think they are what they wanted them to be at the time. They are not easy, we just know what we are doing. I remember when the Teq revamp dropped, I was on a map that failed more that I was on a map that did it. Time has a funny way of.making you forget how hard it was when you didn’t have a clue.

Because those bosses were designed before the megaservers and boss timers. Before then I remember going to one of those bosses and there was only a handful of people. There were people that soloed the Golem, because they were the only person who showed up. I showed up at the Golem a couple of times and I was the only person there.

With the megaservers and timers, hordes of people show up now and they overwhelm the boss’s mechanics by sheer numbers.

Plus they might have had a smaller group in mind. The world boss timers available really do make it clockwork for players to join these events in huge numbers. If you’ve ever been in a Shatterer event with like 30 people or less, it does become a bit more difficult to complete in time and the healing crystal mechanics actually work noticeably. I do think it would be cool to revamp some of the other world bosses to require a bit more coordination like they did with Teq. Perhaps someday after HoT dust settles.

Yah. ANet needs to remove that thing. It’s been discussed on the forum before and they should take the time to remove all of those boxes and have people actually fight that golem as it was intended.

golem is a bad example because it has an untelegraphed, close to insta-down mechanic (the ground electrification)

it also has a that well-telegraphed but almost unavoidable anyway three-hit Ground pound, which seems like what you’re supposed to save dodges for. Dodge through the first hit to try to get to a place where the second hit won’t afect you, then dodge the third.

if lightning then drops on you, it will kill you before you can walk out of it.

I think the OP might be forgetting that the content was different before the megaservers. This content was created before megaserver technology was even thought of. So the older stuff is obviously going to be affected.

When the fire ele first launched, as designed, it was a tough, tough fight. You’d go there and all you’d see were dead players. Now it’s a lot easier, because people complained. But it’s also easier because of the megaserver.

I used to do world bosses off hours before the megaserver. sometimes there would be much less players and the fight would be more enjoyable. That said, megaservers have helped the game in other ways, so there’s always good and bad with every change.

I’ve fought it and not stood on that box and not died. The people in the video I posted, were not standing on that box. If the people who were fighting that boss the old fashioned way for months before the cheesy way was discovered could do it, the current players can do it also.

The electrified ground fades in. You’ll notice it about a second before it actually activates. You shouldn’t need to dodge it all. Once you learn the pattern, a single step to the next safe area will do.
