TLDR: Wish there was more updates and living world stuff

At first it was all new and shiny and exciting ,plenty to be learned, tried, failed, tried again and succeeded.

Living world introduced something fresh, even tho the start of it was kinda clunky.
Living world updates got better and some of them were really interesting. Like the queens jubilee or the nightmare tower in kessex hills.

Combined with “seasonal” festivals such as wintersday the whole thing was just a head full of great memories.

Since the end of the living world s2 there haven’t been and updates besides the lunar update. Besides the quick fun games of dragon balls i primary used it to get lots and lots of money…

All this time ive been playing on and off till i eventually just stopped.
I was playing with various chars,professions, races, lvling alts, pvped,wvwed, got a ascended armor set, “perfected” my main and thats about it.

Unfortunately (tho some might disagree) living world was a big part of gw2. And i miss it. Without it its just a handful things to do from a check list.

Recently i tried to spice it up with some self made up rules and challenges like lvling up a new char in shiverpeek zones only (and all cities) without using the tp and getting to lvl 80 with 0 deaths.

pretty much nothing left to do in game but sit on forums attempting to put pressure on the devs to fix stuff that I would like to do, as I quickly lose interest in the game. Its quite pathetic actually.

I am new player, so I have not ran out of things to play yet, but I see your point.

Looking back at what special events GW2 has hosted over the 3 years, it’s actually pretty sad (LW is very impressive though). It is way lesser than what many F2P MMORPGs can offer. I know it is because F2P MMORPGs are more motivated to squish money out of the players.

What exactly did you people expect to happen after screaming for an expansion? Now they’ve shifted focus and are wholly focused on giving you that expansion. We’ve seen this time and again with other game development. Did you somehow think Anet was going to be different?

Why do you think they chose to make the expansion because some people screamed for it? They haven’t done anything that I have screamed for… There are plenty of people screaming for many different things, and anet has always made their decisions based on their own interests, not the players interests.

I didn’t ask for an expansion, and its still up in the air if I will invest my time and money into one, Not sure I want to play another game full of bugs, and apathy.

They have actually done several things that were screamed for. Doesn’t necessary mean “you” specifically. It was a general “you”

We’ve actually gotten a lot of the stuff we asked for, which is cool. No matter what Anet does, it’s going to kitten a bunch of people off unfortunately. Literally every decision made has been met with some degree of vitriol. I still remember the ‘’Living story vs Expansion" debates, many people were convinced we’d never see an expansion. Yet here we stand.

Although, OP, I do understand your position. It would be nice for them to toss some stuff out into the world for a change. Nothing fancy, just something new to do to keep everyone occupied.

I think that you should have stopped when you where doing "made up " challenges.
I’m a dedicated player since launch. Even during season 2 I was starting to get bored. When the expansion was announced, I did level a sylvari ranger (my other sylvari is specialised in WvW, and cause I’m interested in the druid, I made that one as a sylvari HoT toon). Since then I’m mostly playing a different game (the elder scrolls online). I still log in for the daily. I also farmed for a beta portal (and was lucky). When the expansion hit, not only will it be fresh content for me, but also the rest of the game will be fresh again. Without monthly fees and endless geargrinds, there is no need for goodbye. This isn’t hotel california. You can check out anytime you want, and everyone is still happy when you return.
