First you need to know which chest to farm. Second, you need to get it. Then you should start thinking about profit.
Personally, i think that first one that shows up could reach price of precursor easily, maybe even more.

As much as it would take to still make a good profit on the TP. Much like a precursor if one dropped it would just be a rather large payday for me.

Easily reach precursor price imo.

Precursors are easy to come by, compared to Final Rest. Personally, I think you’d need to sell a precursor just to afford the listing price of the Final Rest if you ever decide to TP it

Nothing. I have no interest in Final Rest. But I’d sell it if I had it because apparently everyone wants it.

I don’t even know what it is.

It is an amazing staff topped with an asymmetrical winged gargoyle. Confirmed to be in game by the devs, no one has found it yet.

Actually if I were to find one I’d sell it on the TP for the cost of a Legendary. After all, until where the location/boss of it is generally known there would be only ONE in game.

Currently those looking for it have found ‘0’ of them in game so ‘Final Rest’ is rarer than a Legendary.

I really don’t understand the obsession with this staff. It’s so incredibly ugly. I’m sure it’s just the instinct of OH NO ONE HAS IT MUST HAVE. Kind of thing.

Unless people really dig gargoyles that much, otherwise there’s nothing special about it in my opinion. Now if the Gargoyle was actually moving and looked around and looked “alive” on top of it, that would be a different story.

I would pay 20 silver for it and then sell it on the TP for 800 gold.

I would pay nothing for it because if it suddenly showed up on the TP, that means people know where to get it and I can farm it myself for free. Not about to fatten the gold stash of already stupidly rich people, nty.

That looks very boring to be honest. Unless it has some nice effects most people wouldn’t look twice at it.

final rest is useless for necro. the scythe effect is already built-in to the profession.

Even though it looks like a scyth in that picture it’s actually got two wings scyths jutting out from it and looks pretty awesome on a necro.

It would be worth a lot and not because you could sell it for 1000 gold but because if you did find it you wouldn’t need to tell anyone where you found it. If it was a rare event chain you could casually farm the event chain and keep collecting them and selling them for like 100-200 gold a pop. And no one would would have a clue.

I disagree….the scythe effect is only visible while casting. It would make a great necro weapon.

@nawrasz I think it might be because noone has the staff is why the obsession… it’s better looking than the Bifrost legendary so, might be why as well?

The Crossing comes to mind as another ok looking staff but there isn’t many staffs in gw2 that do… think ANet really didn’t put much effort into the weapon compared to others like the GS.

Final Rest looks ugly, so I would probably salvage it or use it in the mystic forge if I would find it.

id say that 2000 gold for an item that we dont know where to get would be PLENTY fair enough, so if you find it id suggest that you say you found it and wont say where until someone buys it

For those that have not seen the skin on your PvE character. Use the preview code:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/10weip/list_of_named_exotic_weapons/ [&AgGgSwAA] Final Rest.
Copy “[&AgGgSwAA]” and paste it in game chat. click the link it creates in game chat and preview. Alternatively, you can preview it in the sPvP locker in your sPvP clothes. The PvP version with the same skin is called Gargoyle Staff.

I’d not go so far to say everyone wants it. Perhaps 100 players would use the skin, 2,000 would sell it on TP, & 5,000 would drop it into Mystic Forge for a chance at a precursor. I have data that I just imagined to back up my numbers.

I’d not pay for it.
