ok guys i just started playing guild wars 2 as a norn guardian and i done all the love heart quests for my level but i still have loads of xp left to go to my next level just wondering how do i level i know its a stupid question but just wanna know ???

When I am starting a low level toon, I use the portal in the capital city (norn hoelbrak) to go to lion’s arch. From there I go to the other capital cities and then on out to the starter zones for the other races. This allows you to play in areas that are around your level and helps you level up to go to the next level up zones.

For me, I normally do all the zones that are the same level together as I am playing. I really love the look of the game, so I don’t mind going a little slower getting the map opened up. Now this isn’t for everyone but works for me.

Another way to help you level is start crafting. You don’t have to hurry through it but if your gathering while your playing your getting mats so you should be able to do a little crafting for the extra XP while your playing.

Also make sure you do any events you find in the zones. These will help leveling a lot.

Don’t worry about being a level or two lower for a heart. But technicially, finishing each zone should net you enough exp to be able to do the next zone. Are you sure you got all hearts? Finding vistas, waypoints, and skill points also reward good exp.

You could spam crafting for easy levels but save that for +50.

Doing ANYTHING in this game will get you XP. Heart quests. Killing. Mining ore. Logging trees. Harvesting plants. Crafting. Dynamic events. Map completion.

Think of Hearts like bread crumb quests. They lead you into an area, but it’s the dynamic events that unfold there that’s the real meat of the game.

And as Hjorje pointed out you are not limited to your starting zone. The game is not linear that way, you can level almost everywhere, including WvW.

i do have hearts left over just they are higher level than me so yeah

Take your time and enjoy it. The first character is always the most enjoyable leveling. Enjoy the game world and take in the sights while your playing. As stated above almost everything you do in game with get you XP.

I find when doing a zone, going for 100% in that zone usually get you 10 to 20 levels if your doing the DE’s also. Also when you get close to having everything explored you don’t have to worry about going back to the zones you have been in already to find a POI or vista you forgot.

Also take breaks and try something new, like dungeons or sPvP. Explore the mals, find jumpin puzzles.

TALK. It may seem quiet but really, people are just waiting for something to talk about. Chatter in map chat, but don’t spam, and others will follow your example.

in my experience, hearts give little xp . to level faster you have to hunt around for events

The invasions are indeed a great way to gain XP (I leveled from 65-80 on my guardian over the weekend via the invasions). But considering all of the invasion events are all in level 25+ zones, I don’t think this particular suggestion is all that helpful to a brand spakin’ new player.

Gathering gives you XP. Rezzing NPCs and players give you XP. Bopping things off the beaten path will give you bonus XP. Exploring, uncovering the map, finding waypoints, vistas and POIs witll give you XP. Explore all the race cities and starter maps. I got to level 80 without ever going into zones that start at level 25 and up.

Embrace Dynamic Events. Take advantage of the live story (pestering balloon pilot to trigger events once the doors close).

Go into WvW and join the zerg there (look for the blue commander icon on the map)
Makes sure your gear is reasonably current though.
Hot tip: You can buy WvW/PvE gear for karma from the vendors in the battlegrounds and WvW will net you a shed-load of karma.

DO NOT CRAFT. It will eat all your money. You’ll need a lot of gold at end game.
Don’t salvage either – it’s better to sell everything on the TP. (Match highest seller button is your friend).
Repeat: Sell everything. You can always buy it back later – probably cheaper.
