Play them all!
(seriously)
I agree with dace, but Ele sounds like it’s going to be what you want.

As those are my most played professions, im going to tell you to play ele. Its the best class overall since its great in all game modes. Mesmer is my personal fav, but its an acquired taste. Necro is very love it or hate it, and I would probably make it second and mesmer last. Mesmer isnt hard to play or anything, but its… a bit annoying to level for a lot of people since it has very little area damage.
welcome to gw2!
Elementalist is one of the most “asked for” classes for parties in all three modes. And they have the best AOE damage under most conditions. They’re also the most versatile class aside from Engineer, and you can do very well as both damage and support. Plus it sounds like you’re interested in magic users, and eles are the most mage-like class. If you’re looking for the magic nuke playstle of DPS mages in other games, Ele is what you want.
Mesmers are interesting because it’s pretty unique to this game. They have very good single target damage, but most of their AOE skills are support focused things. Chronomancer will add more AOE damage skills, but they still won’t touch an elementalist/tempest on that. In WvW they have specific niche roles, especially with use of their portals. Mesmers excel in the more PvP focused modes, but are still handy in PvE.
A good necro is beastly in PvP, but they’re not as much of a “team player” class and have less supportive skills, so they’re rarely asked for for things like dungeon running and such. Some elitist types may actively exclude necros from groups for things like that, but they don’t get it nearly as bad as Rangers do. As a new player, you’d want to avoid those types of players anyway though.
But yeah, try them all out once you get the chance. This game is very alt friendly. Your second character will take half the time to level as the first.
You can very easily earn “tomes of knowledge” which let you instantly level a character. After playing for a year, I’m sitting on enough scrolls/books to make another 7 new characters and instantly bring them to level 80. (Though I don’t have the extra slots for that.)
My first was an elementalist, followed shortly by a guardian, engineer, and ranger (at the same time). My next two were a warrion and mesmer, Right now I am leveling a necro. How many empty slots do you have? I would suggest a wide a variety as possible to see what you like.
thx i have chosen elemantalist can someone tells me what a good pve build for ele is also one for pvp and wvw i just want to know

Define “good.” If you mean doing the most damage, I can’t really help. If you mean fighting most 1v1s in pvp to a stand still, doing ok damage, and not really caring about the meta, then I’m your man.

Sure. You want main hand scepter and off hand dagger. The slot skills are Signet of Restoration, Lightning Flash, Armor of Earth, Mist Form, and any elite skill. For trait lines, you Earth, Water, and Arcane. In Earth, the traits are Earth’s Embrace, Rock Solid, and Written in Stone. For Water, you want Soothing Ice, Soothing Disruption, and Cleansing Water. In Arcane, you want Arcane Precision, Elemental Contingency, and Evasive Arcana. The rest is up to you.
