I downloaded the patch and came in understanding nothing. therefore i have sevveral questions:

1. Do i have to have same cosmetic look in PVP and pve?
2. where is my 5 extra free transmutation charges?
3. most other stuff XD
4. why do they force PvE down our throats to get new traitpoints?

1 Yes
2 Click on the trading post (or press O) go in the Special tab, click on the orange button with 0 gems you see under the Transmutation Charges.
3 It’s not that difficult..

Good question! I always enjoyed the fact that you were given options in which you wanna level your toons. You didn’t have to do PvE, repeatedly clear the same maps, do the same hearts, ect. There was always WvW, crafting or even champ trains. Now, it feels like we are being forced to do PvE which I really don’t appreciate. I have 1 toon who is exclusively WvW, he never sat foot outside Rata Sum and he never will. That’s not his purpose. He’s just gonna have to live without those traits because I won’t run him all the Orr!
Anet needs to stop forcing players into doing things its way. You made other leveling options available now live with them!!!

Because they know the related PVE quests are a pain in the kitten . so you get the option to buy it with skillpoints/gold or gemstore.

With gold farming being nerfed that much more they are actually just after your wallet.

No, many players, from GW1, wanted to have the same system. Basically kill a boss to capture an elite – that is all this is. Nothing more.

The whole skill system is from GW1, and means you only have to unlock what you want to unlock, nothing more.

Which brings us back to the main reason for this patch…it’s nothing but a money-making scheme!

1. No. You could always pick up some cheap armour and weapons, and transmute the look you want for PvP, then simply swap the sets out. Is it a pain? Yes, but you can still get two distinct looks.
2. As Lolindir said.
4. Why do you have to do PvE? The traits can be unlocked with skill-points and gold (if you so wish), which are things you can get from doing PvP now. As for why they’re doing traits like this, they said they wanted a method of acquisition for Traits (as an additional progression system), since Skills already have one.

One suggestion for Anet: Why not have Trait unlocks as a reward for completing PvP reward tracks?

Huh?

  • The wardrobe is simply a refinement on the old system, and because of account unlocks, it’s a net gain for the player (since you don’t need to buy a skin for every character).
  • Account-bound dyes mean that players will have to spend less to get the characters the way they want them.
  • Gold and skill-points are available through PvP.

I guess I’m just not seeing how this is a money making scheme? What have they added that would force people to go to the gem store more than they already would have prior? Transmute charges? That’s no different from them selling transmute crystals. Plus, I logged in, used all my xmute stones and ended up with 100+ charges. That will last me at least a full year if not longer. Don’t get the random crystal from map completion anymore? Ok, play some PvP, you get one charge per rank.

Nerfing the FG champ train is not a scheme to get people to buy gems.

You can get more money than from running dungeons than you ever could in the past. I wish people could actually remember back when you didn’t get guaranteed 1-1.5g from doing dungeons. They added that so that you can make money. Easily. I mean, even at 3 dungeons/day, which when you actually start to farm for gold via dungeons, is ~1hr play time. And just doing AC all paths will net you 4.5g in guaranteed rewards, not even including any of the drops you get. If you play 1hr every day, that’s 31.5g/week just from dungeon rewards, let alone whatever money you would make in drops.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Pretty sure you can buy the traits… Gold + Skill points from a trainer.

If you hover over the new traits on the UI, it will tell you that you can buy them and from where.

They are not forcing ANYTHING down your throat….you have OPTION to earn the trait skills or buy it. I actually find the idea of EARNING the trait skills a good thing as it gives you reason to go out and do specific open world tasks.
