If you feel your negative posts, comments, and rants will somehow fix life for you then your sadly mistaken. Its very selfish imo. To come on here and try to persuad others to not buy the game or have a good time just because your not able to..so please go find somewhere else to vent your negative point of views. I don’t see the objective to any thing other than trying to offer suggestions to anet to fix problems instead of (this game will and or has failed, no end game etc,)

People who pay $60 on a game they cannot return and get a full refund on are more than entitled to their opinions on a game that is in no perfect state. If the criticism of the game is constructive then people are allowed to state their own opinions on it. If you are telling us to not post because you feel the game is perfect then you’re no better than those ranting about issues.

Everyones entitled to their opinions and where did I say you can’t give them? Please re read my post. Quick question, do you think posting all these negative comments about a game that was purchased and the product was not liked. I could understand since I do have complaints of my own however isn’t there a suggestion forum and did say I didn’t see the objective to bashing the game other than offering suggestions…

You bought the game , what was told that would be in the game that wasn’t? Its a MMO so if you didn’t think things wouldn’t be buggy then I’m sorry

I take real reviews over 90% of these wow adddicts any day!
and the real reviews just so happen to have insane scores for reason.

Obviously this game has some seriues issue’s that they have to fix.
Every mmo that came out however had pretty much the same rough start.

the argument works both ways though. People that dont like the game have just as much a right to complain as people that do like the game to praise it.

also, complaining about people complaining gets kinda redundant…

I read reviews for Hellgate London that were great reviews in both major magazines and online when it launched, that game tanked several months later because the reviews were done shortly after or right at launch based on all they had at the time, which was the “potential” the game showed for greatness.

Sadly the developers failed on delivering and living up to the potential that was there, I fear this game could be heading the same way, only time will tell.

I am very surprised at how much people dislike this game. It’s not the best but it’s not down-right horrible. There are some flaws, we know it but what’s killing me is the Doom&Gloom all over the forums. It’s very refreshing to see people actually like the game and not nit-pick on every little thing. For some, I guess the hype died.
At least you all lasted this long, I get bored of games before I even hit level 10 lol or never a time I reached max level from the generic bullkitten they got.
Offer suggestions on what can be done with the game. Let’s remember it just game out, most MMO’s are rocky in the beginnings. I’m sure we will see a lot of flourished content later on.

It’s not an MMO, it’s more of a single player, co-op rpg, more akin to PSO than EQ.

GW2 IS an MMO.

Just because it doesn’t have the hamster wheel at the end that you grind on every day for gear doesn’t mean it’s not an MMO.

Go over to the WoW forums and read this thread..

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/6863566596

…and go read how much people are LOVING the grind wheel…people are quitting in droves due to the dailies and other things and nothing to do.

All WoW has is a repetitive running of dailies for tokens for gear pieces or re-running of the SAME dungeon or RAID for gear pieces.

I said it before I’ll say it again, the game is designed to appeal to the people who felt left out in other MMO’s and never saw end game because they hated the idea of actually having to put any effort into getting there, WoW has realized this and made it easy to see all the content, this game took that to a new extreme.

Yaaaaah ok…so basically effort is organizing 10-25 people in order to see content.

Thank god GW2 didn’t go this route…because all that raiding did was cater to people who had no social lives other then gaming.

You all should visit the WoW General Forum and read the QQ threads about being bored, nothing to do, game is lackluster, questing is boring, game isn’t fun etc.

Probably the same people posting here…never going to make people happy because they expect ridiculous things from a game.

It ruins it for the players who come here for information on the game. I don’t think any of us think the game is perfect or don’t think people are entitled to opinions when they have paid for a product, however the forum is overrun with tons of posts about why they are personally leaving. If you are leaving because you hate the game so much than why post about it? Obviously there is no intent to offer feedback that may actually benefit the game or their personal play experience. I love posts about possible improvements and new features- but I absolutely detest John smith making the 25th post about bots in a day. Taking out of account 12 year old kids who come here with broken spelling just mindlessly complaining about something that happened to them, I am talking about serious issues here.

What you may see as “clueless complaints” I see as criticism. I for one KNOW there are class issues, balancing problems, bots, broken WvWvW system, simplistic dungeon mechanics, countless bug, no real end game motivation, etc etc. I could write pages on what is wrong with this game but to you it could come across as “clueless complaints”. I know that I am not the only one who feels these exact issues and am not the only one who will “complain” about them.

And for the record, the constructive criticisms that will fix this game aren’t complaints…they are exactly what I said, constructive. Without us on the forums constantly addressing issues, this game will deteriorate.

I come here to give my criticism because I love the guild wars franchise and I would hate to see it drop off at GW2. Just because you think it’s “perfectly fine,” doesn’t mean the game will thrive like it should. You can’t change the person or their ideas, but forums are here so we can have input for the game. If ANET just ignored all the negative posts criticizing problems with the game, they would never know if something was wrong with it.

I have many criticisms about the game, not all of them are positive. I’ve been here since GW1 and I have never played WoW. I think I have every right to be negative about the game if I want.

You see, there is a difference between opinions and criticism.
For instance you mentioned a few things.
Class issues/bots/bugs: these are objective issues.
WvW/dungeons/balance/endgame: these are your opinions.

For the first ones, they can be rightfully asked to be done without any problem.
They are malfunctioning mechanics and as such must be fixed.

The second ones are completely subjective; hundreds of thousands see no issues with WvW, dungeons, balance and have no issues with longevity.
As such, you can’t “demand” those. You can say “As I see it, this feature would be better if X,Y,Z” and see what kind of support or non-support you get from players first, then if Anet see there is a large request and believe it can be done, they will do it.

Fundamentally though, you will never get every feature tweaked to your personal tastes.
Adapting is something we all have to do.

Adapting is something we all have to do.

Actually WvW is extremely unbalanced. Maybe the system in general is fundamentally set, however free transfers which may be the issue itself is causing complete server imbalances for WvW. People just transfer to the winning server weekly without repercussion. This doesn’t lead for an enjoyable world pvp experience when it’s always one sided every week. Right now Sea of Sorrows is a whopping 120k points HIGHER than my server Dragonbrand. Know why? Free transfers have shaped a HUGE imbalance in player turn out. We have lost almost a dozen major WvW guilds due to free transfers. They just jumped onto the winning ship.

The second one is more opinionated than the other examples but it still stands as I mentioned. Dungeons alone aren’t enough to motivate a growing player base. They are simplistic in nature, simple bashing head against the boss over and over until you die, respawn and repeat. That is boring and stagnant game play and I’m not the only one who shares that view point. If Anet expects their game to last longer than a year, they have to motivate their true core players who want an actual end game. I’m not saying now is a time to quit due to a lacking end game, but within a few months when people start getting more 80’s…numbers will drop if their isn’t an expansive end game content.

Class balances aren’t even subjective. There are numerous statistical values backing up some of the lacking classes, (would actually search for these if I felt this thread would actually mean anything). Elemantalists, Rangers, and Necromancers have statistical data that has been taken to be shown at the bottom of the profession barrel whether it be in damage or general class mechanics. It isn’t a learn to play issue for most people.

Yes, as a new game that is striving to be different from the standard “WoW” clone mmo’s, we all have to adapt. However changing what an mmo actually is doesn’t necessarily mean it is perfect. There are many things that need to be tweaked before this game will actually have a chance to be as successful as WoW.

Criticisms can be very Valuable feedback. Better than silence and then disappearing customers, or in this Buy-To-Play case, non-playing customers.
I remember the forum in LOTRO, about those who vehemently shot down any form of negative feedback from others, and then it sort of went quiet and many just didn’t bother any more.
Perhaps, some do not put it across in a constructive manner, but there could be gems and useful information in amongst that.

What Petez said. An intelligent person seeks criticism btw. It’s how you can tell how truly well you have done.

My response to you, is if it is so great, you wouldn’t have to waste you time whining about people whining about your fantastic game… if it is, indeed, fantastic.

If you are confident in the games awesomeness, you have no need to care what the whiners think. End of story.

This day in age, people are so ignorant that any criticism, no matter how constructive, is shot-down as being a “troll” or a “hater” rather than sitting down and thinking: Is this a legitimate concern? If not, let it slide over your shoulder. If it is, fix it.

My thread for reworking the game was hatred originally. But guess what? I felt that it was a really important issue and I fought on. Now people like it. :P

You can see it on my thread if you do not believe me. Trace it back to the original thread, as linked. See how people now have differences opinions. Just, take a deep breath, open your eyes, rellaxxxx.

^^ And in the same breath, people who come on forums to vent about a game they are going to quit think that anybody who doesnt agree with them are fanboi.

The problem with most forums are that majority of people who actually post on them are complainers and they wont feel satisfied until the game fails and most people quit. Some even come after leaving the game for 3-4 weeks to still shoot down any positive post

Ah we all know how it’s going to end up…
Imagine three to four months from now.
It’s a slow boring Sunday, the wind howling in the tree’s. Sounds of rain drops gently hitting the window..
Sounds romantic and all but after about 30 minutes you will be thinking:
WHat the Kittykat this SUCKS i can’t build sandcastles in the rain MY GOD I AM SO BORED.
But then … in the far far corner off your pink bed room.. there’s something that catches your eye.. You walk over to it..
It’s Guildwars 2 this crappy game you played months ago.. you dust it off ..
Your boredom has reached max peek level by now, so you figure what the hell let’s give it a shot.. No subscription anyways.

But THEN you log in the game starts to Update !! Bugs that made you leave are no where to be found ! The Bot army’s that ravaged the wild lands of Tyria have all been slain ! WVW is so balance and optimized that even your ipad could run it !

You think to your self “this is the best sunday ever”

t’s not an MMO, it’s more of a single player, co-op rpg, more akin to PSO than EQ.

This is one of my biggest complaints about the game there is no community feel/ even in guilds because there is a lack of content you need other players for. Only thing u need them for is random events and people show or dungeons which are easy pugged

But where else can I rant about how much I hate Trahearne? I’ll make you a deal, get ANet to remove Trahearne from the game and I will only post nice things on the forums

Then do us who enjoy the game a favor and log off the forums and find something else to do please.

Somone posted a true valid pointand I can’t remember who. People who are having fun don’t have time to come on here and complain and those who do should goto suggestion forums and give them.

Do us a favor and keep your own “negative comments to yourself”. As if telling us our posts and rants our negative will make them stop or help the community out. Hey, Kettle. Meet Pot.

Also… “you are” or “you’re”.

Just because you don’t like the opinion of someone else doesn’t give you the right to hate on them. Unless you’re a member of the UN and have a military.

This is a chicken vs the egg debate.

Even the worst naysayer in the world doesn’t hate on the things he loves.

There is no such thing as negative unless you’re part of an equation. Grow up.
