I am getting conflicting answers.
So I decided to ask here on the forum.

Depends what you mean. When I hear “Freeze”, that makes me think of bosses like the Snowblind Shaman who literally freezes you (not the Chill condition).

Freeze means you are stuck in place without being able to take any action until you thaw out. Chilled though, just means you are slowed from being so cold to the point of almost frozen, but still able to take action. Just slower.

Sigil of Hydromancy applies chill, but the description says it freezes. You’ll get conflicting answers because the game itself is conflicting.

For actual debuffs however, a freeze is when you get stuck in a block of ice and a chill is when you’re slowed and your skills have a increased cooldown.

The only freeze available to players I can think of off the top of my head is the elementalist Ice Bow’s 5th skill.

There is also a couple Hearts that give you a weapon to use that freezes. For instance:

Gives you a freeze ray type gun. You shoot the enemy three times and it freezes them. Then you shatter them with a sonic burst.

You can use it anywhere on the map as well. It’s not restricted to just that Heart.

Tyler, what about the runes that say “+20% Frozen Duration” when they actually increase the duration of Chill?
