i created my thief like in 2010
I know the game warns you several times before you finalized your decision to join
but the silly me back then didn’t know better and choice to join vigil

i’ve always regretted that decision because order of whisper would be a much better choice for a thief
i’m not much of a role play guy; nevertheless, I do enjoy the story line and pve content quite a bit
I am way too far in to delete my thief then make another one

i’m just wondering, it’s been several years now
have the devs made it possible for players to change their stories yet?

what if I replay season 1 living world stories and make different choices?

The only way you are going to change your Order is to delete your character and reroll it, and choose to join the Order of Whispers during your Personal Story play through.

and dam i don’t want to delete him…map completetion…leveling…regear and all the soulbound items i have

I doubt they are ever going to give us an option to change our Order. Not really a priority for most people, and I am sure it would require a lot of resources to restructure all the personal stories on all characters to allow Order changing.

If you did contact support, they are most likely going to tell you the same thing I did. Re-roll your character, or buy a new character slot, and make a new thief.

They do not have the resources and tech to do this according to the latest info supplied from a dev.

With an expansion on the horizon I doubt this will be a priority. They may do it down the line, but i suspect in the timeframe for this unlikely event to happen, you could reroll and reachieve everything again.

It is not possible to change your Order, nor likely ever to be. Do not submit a CS request, as they will only affirm this, and your ticket would just add to the tens of thousands received each week, and slow down the support those with access, compromise, etc. issues that need assistance.

Order change isn’t going to happen, sorry about that.

If it’s the order specific armour you want, roll another character and make it join Order of Whispers. You will then be able to buy Order of Whispers armour, and although the armour will be soulbound to that character, the armour skins will be available in your wardrobe, so you can use it on your Thief.

Or, you could even try to make an exact replica of your original Thief and play through the Order of Whispers story on the replica. You then have the experience, but you also get to keep your original char, his progression and age (for birthday rewards).
