An exploit will always be one no matter what. The thing the bothers me is that it’s either ANET doesn’t know about until it becomes noticeable OR they knew but they did not informed us.

Players wants gold, wants rarer and exotic mats and equipments. With the drop rate being like this player tend to find other means to get those things above.

Like what i was doing for the past couple of days, figuring out how crafting would help other than quick leveling and getting me exotic sets. I started checking how i can crafts and probably earn from it or even get ectos from it in a cheap way.

I can’t do buy and sell over TP either coz i will be needing gold to do so.

Then i read the topic of people getting banned coz of the snowflake exploits. Which shocked me coz i wasn’t awarw of it until i decided to hit the forum and read stuff in here..

In this game people just do not play, there is a trading option and crafting (business involve). Means player will find away to earn and get stuff they need with the in game resources they have. So i do not see any problem with player finding it easy to craft and salvage and sell if this will means getting what they need or want int the game.

If it’s a bug ANET shouldve learned about it first and hace it fix during the wintersday event. In this case it’s an exploit that ANET doesn’t want people to do n abuse or they will get banned which is unfair.

If you told the player earlier and warned them issues about banning and exploiting could have been prevented.

People who exploits should be BAN from the game i agree. But at least don’t let the player find it first before you do.

The world isn’t perfect and neither is Anet. It is absolutely impossible for them to squash every single bug or exploit before the players get a chance to find them. Oversights happen. I imagine you couldn’t even live to the standards to hold Anet to. Are you flawless? Could you say write an essay for school 100% error free? No. It would take several drafts with peer edits and hard work. Sometimes it takes the views of other perspectives to catch what you may have missed. Yes, sometimes it might seem like Anet can drop the hammer a little bit too harshly at times, but it is their game and quite frankly.. if you don’t want to get banned, then watch your kitten a little better next time and don’t take the chance.

Unfortunately, they’re handling it much like the WarZ mods did and are just banning people and scuffling negative attention for this out.

If there is a bug in a game, the developer should be responsible to fix it. Of course it’s human nature to want to get an edge where they can, and of course they’re going to want to do something like use the snowflake bug, even if they think it’s a normal part of the game.

It is morally reprehensible of Anet to ban any players over one of their mistakes. This is a software dev issue. They could have removed the item altogether, or locked the accounts temporarily to remove the mass accumulation of them.

But no, just like the WarZ issue, they ban people and continue to make profit by doing so.

Anet, you have officially made me afraid to play your game.

Not really. It’s morally reprehensible of players to have noticed a mistake and, instead of reporting it so ArenaNet could fix the game, decide to exploit it as much as possible for personal profit.

Those players were doing something wrong, and so they should pay for it. No one forced them to; it was their own choice to abuse this exploit, over and over and over.

treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to
put another carrot in front of me” – Mike O’Brien right before Ascended weapons
