is this intended or not? overwriting the sigil on the weapon soulbounds it to the character.

So far as I’ve experienced, putting anything into the “upgrade” slot soulbinds it to that character. This would include sigils. There is usually a confirmation box, maybe it’s not as clear when upgrading an existing sigil, but it appears to be consistent behavior.

You can’t upgrade sigil/rune, if you do that it will soulbound.

I was wonder the same thing in-game yesterday, so I tried putting a sigil on a weapon that I wanted to sell (an exotic with grawl slaying, I figured why not use an extra sigil that’s taking up space to make it more desirable).

The game window clearly displayed the warning that it WOULD make it soulbound.

I didn’t go through with it, but believe the warning was true.

I can’t imagine that they’d program in the warning about soulbinding, if it weren’t intended to happen.

When confirmation windows pop up, people have a tendency to click “yes” automatically, without reading or pausing a moment to think about what they are doing. In other words, they ignore the purpose of the confirmation window, then get all kitteny when they do something that they didn’t want to do – the same thing the window was included to prevent.

I read them, but after going through the same actions a hundred times or so I don’t pay much attention to what the actual text says. And, yes, sometimes I mess up and do something I didn’t intend to do, then think, there shouldn’t have been a confirmation window, oh kitten what did I do?
