i just bought the heroic edition for 20 dollars. where is the upgrade for heart of thorns? i looked everywhere. i found a page in the faq about upgrading, but the page doesn’t exist. do i have to re buy the game again? i really dont want to spend 40 MORE dollars

could someone point me in the right direction? thanks.

If you bought the old GW2 heroic edition, you will need to buy Heart of Thorns, since that is a separate paid expansion (that comes with the core game for free as an added extra).

Contact whoever you bought the heroic edition from for a refund. The herioc, collectors, deluxe, etc, versions DO NOT CONTAIN Heart of Thorns. You’re going to have to buy a HoT key (yes, pay $40 again) to access it. Those are outdated serials that people are likely selling at a discount to get rid of them.

Once you get your refund, buy a serial key from Anet’s site itself- http://buy.guildwars2.com/

alright. i take it there are no upgrade options.. i assumed there would be a way to pay less since i already had the base game.. rip 20 dollars xD

If you can not obtain a refund from the retailer you bought from, you can use it as a secondary account (twice the log-in rewards), rather than using the Heart of Thorns Serial Key (use key to create another account) to upgrade it.

Heart of Thorns is not included with the Core game; the Core game is included with a Heart of Thorns purchase.

SERIOUSLY faulty logic. A HoT key is the expansion WITH the base game. You merely bought the base game. You are going to get HoT because it WASNT a HoT key you purchased.

The Heart of Thorns serial code/box comes with the core game

The core game however, does not come with HoT.

It entirely depends which way round you bought this.
