Wow. That’s quite a tool. I think it might have been more attractive if the beam was aimed at the rock with minor movements though. The way the animation moves it upwards to where it misses the rock completely is a little disappointing and makes me not want to stand on the other side for sure.

The aim is kinda off but looks cool. Were these added today? Hadn’t been on yet~ they usually save the updates for Tuesdays.

Meh, I don’t like it. Makes no sense at all that shooting an improvised flamethrower at a boulder somehow transfers ore to your inventory.

Exactly….buying this over the Watchwork is just throwing away potential FREE gold….

Watchwork for the win. I haven’t bought any other type of unlimited gathering tool, waiting for when Anet gives us some more that drop aditional stuff. And no, not holding my breath xp.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure they realized that the Watchwork pick was a mistake. One that they won’t be repeating.

In fact, look at the frost gathering tools we got for Wintersday. Earnable in game, give bonus items, and limited uses. It shows what they learned, and I’d say they got it right that time.

I’d never buy a mining pick other than the watchwork pick. You know, if I’d known it was going to be released when I bought my less useful molten pick first.

Or, you could have been smarter, and just traded those 1000 gems for gold straight-up. The clockwork pick doesn’t give you money; it just has a very slightly better return of the gold you spent.

I haven’t bought any of these tools. If I ever do, it’ll be for role-playing purposes, not to make money (because they don’t).

I bought it at 800 gems, before the conversion. At the current gem→gold rate, that’s 75 gold. (Because you get shafted of your silver in the conversion.)
I have easily earned that much since the introduction of that pick, and it will be paying out for much longer.
Otherwise, I take the convenience of the axe and sickle.

I bought 3 of these account bound items .. mostly because they are useful of all gather nodes

I used to cuss and swear every time I changed areas and suddenly found I have the wrong tools for the job and was just turning up junk to sell..

it is still personal choice BUT i love the ones I bought (though I only paid 800 each)

Now, I’m expecting some gaping hole to show up while someone is mining with it, just to surprise the kitten out of them.

I’d consider buying this if all the other infinite mining tools were upgraded to give ‘extras’ like the watchwork mining pick – after all, why would I want to buy something that gives me less money than the ultimate infinite mining pick (watchwork)?

Really wasn’t a lot of uses for them to begin with, well compared to candy corn that allows you to get new bags and stuff.
