lets talk: Inventory
I would like to have an option to show individual bags per bag, instead of on/off for all bags.
I would also like to have more sorting options than just plain “compact”.
The amount of inventory space is plentiful. The only thing I would change is that bag slot upgrades should be account wide.
I think its time that Anet adds more obtainible Inventory slots via Shop/Ingameevents.
The more content comes the more different type of gear and items is needed that one has to carry – and im running out of inventory slots since long time :p
Endless tonics need a deposit slot of some sorts :P That would help me A LOT xD

They should get a wardrobe tab like the minis have. Problem solved.
And not just for the endless ones, but the limited ones too, like finishers work currently, adding a “charge” for every item consumed.
Most of my characters have 60 slots
20 slot bag + 4×10 slot bags (basic, trash, crafting, invisible)
my ‘Main’ has max slots
If I want to play for more than an hour in the new maps I feel like I have to be on my main.
There are too many “key” type items you need to have.
- Silverwaste shovels, Bandit Keys, Greater Nightmare, Essence of Nightmare, Zerpherite lockpick, Bandit Skeleton Key (Silverwastes / Drytop)
- Pact Crowbar, Auric Key, Vial of Chak Acid, Machetes, Rata Novus Writ (HoT Maps)
- Mawdrey II, Herta, Princess (Ascended eaters)
- Food/Tuning Crystals
- Copper/Silver salvage (or plenty of basic kits)
- Unlimited gathering tools (or extra stacks of non-unlimited)
Now add to that all the variety of non-stacking container types which drop on new maps… and I just feel bogged down without really investing in bags for EVERY character to be playable. And even if I do now I’m constantly dragging things from one to another so they aren’t each carting around partial stacks.
tl;dr … we need a keyring. If it’s something which is used/gathered to open a chest, it should be stowed/account bound like dungeon tokens.

We’ll probably have to wait till the next expansion for SOME of those to go into the account wallet or something. Not all though, would be too good to be true.
I am pretty happy with my inventory. It would be nice if the tab upgrades were less expensive, but in the end I have plenty of space in my characters.
The recent changes to make some things like bandit crests part of the wallet was a huge help.
What I don’t think is as adaquate is the the bank tab limit. You have people doing all sorts of things to get around that.
If anything I’d like to see some more slots in the materials section of the bank. It’s kittened that lots of materials used for crafting in the game don’t have slots.
Hi playerbase. Lets have a discussion on Inventory in GW2. Are you satisfied with it?
Do you want it improved? If so how?
Should more inventory be added or no?
Could there be any balance issues from increasing inventory?
For most people, the issue isn’t inventory, it’s inventory management. Too many hoard stuff & too few make use of the TP to sell the stuff they don’t need and buy the stuff they do.
I’d rather ANet work on helping those that hoard learn to manage their inventory, rather than expanding the number of slots.

’Tis the Gasseous Law of Stuff: Stuff shall expand to fill the Container provided.
Kidding aside, Key items need to be in the wallet. Collection trophy items should be grey, sellable junk, unless they’re needed for actual recipes (ie, Mistward gear).

Too much clicking. Too much inventory management. Those are my complaints. I find managing all the junk with the clicks involved in accepting the loot, opening containers, selling & salvaging to be far more irritating than the amount of space.
My other complaint is the amount of things without a spot in the wallet or materials storage.
A few ideas on how to make the inventory window better :
– menu items replaced by a bunch of icons, helping compact or sending mats to stock easier (when we need to make free room between 2 chained events, for example)
– display inventory as a list, or even multiple lists, one for each bag
– something like a shared bag space between characters, that could allow every character on an account to access keys and map specific items, or consumables like boosters, etc. Would an option like this pop up on the gemshop, i’d buy it instantaneously…
Don’t have a problem with amount of slots I can get without buying additional bag slots.
Wished there was an invisible bag for account bound gear so when I swap weapons from inventory, especially swapping in a two handed one for a paiir of one handed, that the “extra” weapon doesn’t get moved to the first available slot in the bags where normal drops go.
