i feel that you work hard to get to 80 only to be punished for getting to 80 at level 80 you can only be 80 in very few certain areas that feels like a punishment to all the hard work it took to get to 80

When you’re level 30, you get to go to any zone where the levels are 1-30.

When you’re level 80, you get to go to any zone in the entire game.

seems pretty good to me.

It’s not punishment.

  • At level 80 you have access to plenty of skill points, more trait points, better equipment, and better consumables than someone at lower level. This can make an enormous difference over someone of lower level.
  • At level 80 you also get better loot, even in low level areas.
  • If there wasn’t level scaling then doing low level stuff would be way way too easy. High level characters can always blaze through low level content, they’re plenty powerful already.
  • ANet has already already added one new level 80 zone (admittedly not the most popular), and it’s likely there will be more in the future.

Think of it this way, isn’t it better than having level 80’s run around in low level zones and ninja killing the event bosses?

I don’t really feel like I worked that hard to get to 80. I ran around, harvested, did events, did hearts, explored and before I knew it, I was 80.

In some games, you constantly feel like "omg I can’t wait to finish this level, omg I’ll never be done with this level omg leveling is the most boring thing ever.

In GW2, it just doesn’t work that way. Thankfully!
