It needs to stop. If you can link enough KP it’s enough proof that you have killed the boss multiple times and have the experience for that specific raid boss. Linking Li makes no sense as people could have bought raid runs or killed all other bosses except the boss you’re needed for.

Stop with Li requirement. It’s the cancer of the raiding community and their mentality. I’ve seen good raid players but this kind of mentality is an abomination. ArenaNet needs to do soemthing about it.

Well personally, even if I had 200li, I would never join a group looking for such an absurd amount to do basic bosses. But their choice so whatever.

Btw, what do you suggest ANET do about it? And as always, you can make your own groups with your own requirements.

The best thing Anet can do is release Legendary Armor. Let’s see how many people have 200 Li once they do :P

I don’t raid (yet), but do you honestly expect anything to change? I still remember times when the dungeon lfg demanded x achievement points, although that was even more pointless than those LI things.

Its also a backward logic. I did wing several times. i got a rough 30 LI’s now (all from vale guard and gorseval, have yet to kill sabetha)
so I could technically enter a wing 2 or 3 party and show my 30 LI’s and say ‘look, I have some experience here’

Now in my case scenario, 30 isn’t that much. But if I had 1000, all from wing 1, and showed in them as proof for wing 2 or 3 it completely undermines the purpose

Anet doesn’t have to do anything about it.

I think it’s great when group leaders require high AP or proving LI via GW2 Efficiency — without any effort on my part, I get to find out that they won’t be a good group for me to join. I can’t imagine that such a group responds well to the unexpected and that’s the part of the game where I have the most fun.

Groups that really want to ensure members with the “right” amount of experience should find a couple of simple questions to ask. LI only tells you how often someone raided; it won’t tell you anything about how well they perform. Or how much fun they are to play with.

How are newer people meant to start raiding but never done it before and with there’s required Li points they will never get to do them. Elitest people are toxic when it comes to things like end games, they evenue dI’d this in dungeons. I always laugh when I see a ad for a ascalon catchcombs with full berserker gear x amount of AP…

That’s why when we need to pug the last spot in a guild run, we only ask to know the mechanics… If someone joins us and is new, he is kicked, but if he’s decent, he’s staying.

I agree, some of those requirements are borderline redicilous, but Anet can’t do anything about it. Elites will keep being elites, but so what? I personally stay clear from their groups and I am happy they stay clear from mine. Recently i’ve seen a squad, which wanted 100+ li + Envoy armor for the Escort part only in w3, which I did without any wipes when I was just starting raiding (and with no training at all as well). Redicilous, right? Well yes, but thats a big online community for you. You have all types here. I usually raid with my guild, but I do the occassional runs with random squads and I can tell you there are many out there who won’t ask for 100+ li, as long as you know your stuff and can pull your own weight in a raid.

im in a position where people we run with are getting tired of attempting each raid twice a week. once with their static group and once to help us learn. what do we do now? we arent really exp enough to do our own or join a pug group or anything. but exp raiders dont really want to continue teaching as theyve done it a million times.

im bad at sarcasm
