low lv only area
No, just no. Level-exclusive zones go against the mantra of being able to experience all of the game.
I do agree that champ trains have ruined things, though. For example, hardly anything in Queensdale happens except 24 hour champ train and SB. The fix? Set them to proper diminishing returns. Either make the bags 1/day/specific champ, or each kill drops a lesser bag for that player until they stop dropping for the day (first kill exotic, second rare, third masterwork, fourth fine, fifth normal, sixth and further normal or nothing). There is no incentive to do anything except champs.
u can go in a low lv area as lv 80 but then u are together with only lv 30 to lv 80 people
This is something they could somewhat do behind the scenes by prioritizing low level players together when selecting overflows.

Again, no. This defeats the purpose of the scaling system and limits how players are allowed to interact.
Can u explain how it would interfere with the scaling system?
since u still be scaled as lv 1 to 15 in a 1 to 15 area so it does not change anything on ur scaling.
u are only give beginners there peaceful start area without lv 80ths who are just farming and do nothing else.

Placeholder for when I get home from work. I have a reply brewing the likes of which no phone OSK could possibly survive through.
A downscaled level 80 is way stronger than an actual level 8 character.
I personally hate loot farmers in general, They ruin the game because you shouldn’t actually play the game it was intended to be played if they can get some type of reward from it.
This is just another jab at the Queensdale train posing as some argument for “the greater good”. At least be honest. I am not a big fan of the champ train, but only because I consider it incredibly boring, not because I am concerned with the way other people play. What is this recent obsession in here with Queensdale? How those players play is neither your business nor mine.
Just killing the queensdale champtrain should work perfectly to get ppl out of the starter area.
Personally idc whatsoever, if I see a champ up I’ll kill it if I need krytan event completer/group event completer. Let them whisper me angrily, it’s actually pretty funny.
is not about the train at all
the train will still exist
its about the feeling beeing not to late in a new world but instead be at the beginning of the adventure.
I made a lv 1 ton a few days ago and for the first mission i was in a lv 1 only area. I feelt thats quite nice since it felt more like a start for everybody
absolutely not.
how would I get my world completion?
How can I help a guildie level up when they roll a new toon?
How can my guild do its crusade across tyria without being able to enter half the maps?
if this is about the train. then i am sorry for you. It will always exist as long as there is loot to be had. if you do not like it. Don’t hang out in Queensdale. I certainly dont, I get more and better loot going everywhere else.
I maybe made my post not clear enough sorry for that so i try again
u still can go to a low lv area as lv 80 u would not just end up in the same as those people who are lv 1 to 30.
u still can go with ur friend in a low lv area then u only need be in the same party and u end up who ever is party leader in a under 30 or over 30 map.
But its always still the same map

No.
If you find the weeniedale train that obstructive, there are FOUR other 1-15 areas (I see weeniedale being 1-17 as a quirk) that you can go to. The reason you dont see a “champ train” in most of those areas is because they either take too long to get from area to area or the bosses take too long to fight for comparative loot. That’s why I’ve seen a frostgorge sound champ train a grand total of one time in the last 2 months. A fight that lasts 2 minutes that gives the same loot and experience as a fight that lasts 10 minutes is ALWAYS going to be the preferred choice. It’s a problem exacerbated by how badly gear scales down.
again read my post its nothing about the champ train
train as much as u want
its about the feeling beeing together with only newbies
Oh, you mean that phase of a game that lasts for roughly 5 minutes to an hour?

its 5 minutes to an hour when u have that scrolls yes
but if u have a other way please please teach me how i can do that on a first made char i love to know
i will try that if it works i will send u 30 gold if not i go outside buy icecream for myself
I agree with the OP that the Queensdale champ train is, unfortunately, in a starter area. I love the champ train and run it a lot when I want to play for a short period of time, want a shot at decent loot, and don’t want to get involved with anything that will chew time. But … I agree that starter areas should strive to be like the OP posted – they should try to show off the game to newbies. And the game itself is a LOT more than champ trains and nasty map chats (although, here on DR, we don’t have much of the nastiness). I don’t want the champ train to go away – you can have both the train and a good newbie playing experience if the general nastiness went away – and Troll is really the only one that a new player could activate unintentionally. The others, well, a newbie fighting Oak alone wouldn’t impact the train at all.

Sorry but for who’s benefit?
Sounds more like you just want to be ‘king of the heap’ in low level areas rather than ‘helping’ anyone, besides, most players don’t want you to hold their hand – they’d rather figure things out for themselves…then move on.
OP’s replies in the time since my placeholder post have made me realize any argument would be wasted. Put simply: No
Instead of sealing players away from players, find and fix the underlying problem instead.
As for you never saying anything about the champ train being a problem:
the reason
Champ farms take the magic of the game away and kill the atmosphere of exploring. This can be quite a up turner for newbies.
I’m too tired to argue. No
Well there are lots of zones without a champ train, and tbh, even in queensdale you can do all the non-champ events if you’re exploring. Most of the map is untouched.
People wouldn’t resort to the mind-numbing boredom of the champ train and park their 80s in a zone meant for low-levels if they didn’t feel that loot and in-game money was so hard to acquire through normal gameplay.
having low level areas for only low leveled Won’t Ever happen, there are tons of players that have a few lvl 80 toons who have yet to complete low level maps. i have a few myself that have yet to complete low level map completion. Why? well because not only have i already done it with a few of my other 80 toons and it’s boring, though i would like the option to revisit those areas. i also have lvl 60+ toons that still have to do their story instances in those low level areas, so do tons of other people.
having high leveled player in low level areas will always be there. while i do agree that certain people in chat get rather crazy over these trains (whining, rude, and just people being people) you always have the option to block these people from chat. besides the horrible loot you get from high level places, there’s no real big incentive to stay there. so these low level trains will stay.
~ these trains are also a great way to level up and to get mats

If every starter zone had a champ train, then maybe you could possibly have a hint of a point, but since we are clearly only talking about Queensdale, I’m going to have to disagree with your entire premise.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
why are ppl so selfish, if there are players that are bothered with champ trains let them have peace.
it doesn’t do anything wrong, better yet, it improves the enjoyment of the game for everyone.
Low level only areas would take away from the Map Exploring achievement. Also, with the down-scaling, it is not a big deal. The lowering of drops will do more to nerf the mindless champ trains than anything else will
I understand the OP’s premise…something like Pre-Searing Ascalon.
Unfortunately, it will probably never come to pass in GW2. But, there may be some changes in the ambiance of starter zones with the new patch. On the other hand, there may not.
I think it’s a little late in the game for these sort of changes…Pre-Searing Ascalon was great and all, I can’t see something like that fitting into gw2 though :/

I can, and should, say the same thing to players such as you who seek to restrict higher level players. How would you know whether or not I’m running that train for characters who otherwise would not be able to do it? Your supposed “improvement” to enjoyment thoroughly tramples MY enjoyment.
For that matter, how do YOU know that the champ train is really a bunch of level 80s? All you see is the fact they’re downleveled to that particular area. Their gear? If I was feeling particularly wasteful, I’d have no problem skinning low level gear with ascended armor for the looks.
To top it off, it’s too late for anet to change how the process works for high levels in a low level area. The downscaling works pretty kitten well most of the time. Think about it, in other games, you’d have high level areas coming into noob areas one hitting everything for lulz. In guild wars 2, you’ve got players running a series of events you’d NEVER do otherwise because group events are typically hard enough you cant solo them as a downleveled 80, let alone attempt it at the zone’s actual level.
well why not just ask to remove event timers such as guild wars stuff or dragon timer?
they take away the magic of encoundering a shadow behemoth just as a “organised and efficient” champ run farm.
as for a high lvl helping a lower lvl, go to his low lvl zone, buy white armor and weapons from the armor/weapon npc and replace your exotics with it.

Would you like me to zero out my traits and unequip skill slots they would not have open while I’m at it? Do you even see how unreasonable that request is?
And removing event trackers doesnt fix the non-existent problem either. New players aremore likely to be looking up their skills on the wiki than they are looking up a website they have no idea exists for a boss that they have no idea exists.
Oh, and I’m not going to “ask” for anything like that, I have no problem with it just like so many other players do.
