lvl 22 ad defend of shaemoor o.O
Actually it is possible, can’t imagine it’d be fun or worth it, but it is possible. You get xp for those centaur mobs just like any other, as far as I recall. You can just sit there..forever I suppose and kill those eh?
lol you only get 2 exp ea kill that wil take weeks ore more to get that
but am 100% sure its a hack again
Well, exp is exp. 2 or 2k, fact is it’s still possible. Mind numbing and dull but..possible.
While I really doubt it is, even if it was a hack, what would it do?
There’s no drop and no karma anymore.
I’m pretty sure it’s someone dedicated enough.
Maybe when he get to lv 80 Arenanet will create a title “Legendary Defender of Sheamoor”
but this is only the start of there hacking and they push on to get beter hacks
lets say speed hack skill hack damege hack
and then you wont be smiling then
alot of players love pvp and hackers there wont make it any fun to play
so its best that Anet work fast on this and not let it get out of the hand
like most companies do
i quit 1 of my favorite game becouse it was sad to see how hackers and botters make a mess of that game and GM did nothing
spend 4 years in that game spend alot of real cash to now its all gone

It looks like we need a lesson in history:
In GW1, once you leave the starting area, there is no going back and that area is intended for 1-8. It was extremely difficult to level to 20 there (Mind you, much harder than 1-20 in Shaemoor being you had to death level). What was the point of it? Nothing, except better dye drops but people did it. So are you really going to yell hacker when you see a higher level person in Shaemoor?
sorry read good it was in the intro of shaemoor when you fight the earth element there
you stay in that area lvl 1 even if you try to kill every tamini it takes hours to get to lvl 2 a lvl 22 with a guild dont belong there easy as that
w8 a sec now i see what he is doing to get so fast 22 every time he kill that earth element you get almost 1500 exp and a weapen to pick 1 dunno about mony but its not much i think
so i think he do that quest over and over again to lvl fast
And that’s what people thought in pre-searing before Defender of Ascalon yet people did it.
I really doubt someone bothered to make a hack for that. He probably just finds staying there amusing.
Also, guilds are connected to your account, so there’s no reason a character in the starting area couldn’t represent a guild he joined out in the world on another character.
level 80 defense of shaemoor will be cool as kitten.
I bet that would suck so much if you didn’t get yourself some externally sourced gear. Is there even loot there anymore? Heh, lvl 80 scaled down with starting equipment… the horror…

Nope. Once you kill the earth elemental, you finish the intro quest and map into Queensdale.
When the game released you could do the first half of the quest on the bridge repeatedly for exp and karma. When loot scaling came in it was nerfed to once only.
I had Legendary Defender of Ascalon and was going to try it here too, got to level 11 before the changes killed it.
When you kill the earth elemental you get the exact amount of exp to get you to lvl 2. that could be 1900 or 5 exp. I doubt the guy found a way to farm the earth elemental and stay in ‘pre’.
What you have is a perma Shaemoor, I’ll bet more people will be doing it sooner or later. Probably can get exp boost or other weapons mailed in so it helps the ‘leveling.’ is that still possible? I’ll have to try this out soon, add it to my ‘LDOA’ title from GW1.
It used to be a way to great wealth, back before they stopped any loot from dropping. Previously the mobs had a very high drop rate of the tiny loot bags that had the fine crafting mats (which sold for a silver or more for a while).
There were pictures a while back, maybe a month ago, of an engineer in the sylvari zone who had grinded enough levels to unlock some turrets. Then presumably he could afk the enemies as they spawned, farming XP ever so slowly.
Sorry to necro this, but I thought it was funny that when I googled “Legendary Defender of Shaemoor” today this post popped up.
I just wanted to see if anyone else had tried to level up in the starting zone, and as far as I can tell I haven’t seen anybody trying to. I am going to attempt it again, because on my level 22 I accidentally the Earth Elemental and left the zone a few months ago.
The pic is one of my last days there on Danger Jones.
Wish me luck.
P.S. I think they disabled drops in the starting zones because of people like me. The loot bags I was getting were ridiculous.
Edit: P.S. Some interesting things happened there after a while, if anyone wants to know I’d be happy to divulge any info.

While I’m not saying hacking isn’t a possibility, if they were hacking, why stop at 22? If you’ve seen the bots in this game (at least back when they were more rampant), they’re capable of Jumper-like abilities. Hacking to level 22 would be oddly small potatoes.
Oh geez, this thread is old.
Serious: what happened?

I just started a baby human mesmer and there is zero loot in the starter zone before you go to Queensdale.
They disabled the drops a while ago because bots would farm in the turorials for days. Yes, they could get to 80, but the purpose of doing it was for the bags.

I didn’t hack at all, by the time I was up to level 22 it was about 6000 centaur kills for a level (with exp bonus from food). And the reason I accidentally left was because I wanted to see if I could kill a hand of the earth elemental in one hit, but I was using engie rifle 1’s skill and it penetrated and one hit them both ;_;
The most interesting thing I remembered was this:
At level 10, and all 12 levels afterwards, the kill that netted me a level would give me a blue weapon that I could use (Rifle, pistol, shield). This was strange, because centaurs never dropped anything other than Tiny Supply Bags, Rawhide Leather Straps, and Hooves normally. I’m gonna test it with the 0 drops for my new guy.
There was a lot more but I can’t really remember right now.
you’r not the only 1
atm only lvl 26 tho but theres more people out there i think doin this
but nice to know theres atleast some1 else
