make Fall Damage no longer place combat
but it’s very short, unless you aggro something after falling, so why is that a problem for you?
because it still slows characters down. and what if something is already chasing you from aggro bubble? Slowing down could cause you to get hit and be placed in combat.
It also pops the pet out. Very annoying in jps.
Why not simply give us Travel mounts ,so the game can determine the difference between a player running the map and a player thats ready for combat?
So what your really saying is you want mounts and want to run right through a mob without them attacking you?

Yes and if they can remove the insta-death, that would be great. Make big falls put you in downed state.
I mean, we got shoot, burned, slashed, etc, etc and we can’t take a little fall?

If they made it so taking fall damage didn’t put you in combat…
… they would make it so taking fall damage would apply a 3s cripple for every 10% of health lost from falling.
If they gave you mounts…
… you would be dismounted with a single attack and put into combat.
Well, i don’t see the falling dmg -> combat as a huge problem, I see a problem with usage of the mobility skills/running fast down the slope/stairs/small falling steps to result in a falling damage (you know that situation when you run off a series of stones just to receive a multiple falling damages even though every single fall wasn’t too deep to give any damage, right?)
It’s like the game engine adds all of those falls together if those are in a small timeframe. It’s even worse with those mobility skills like RTL, Rush etc… Sometimes my character even begin to scream

The reason why it puts you in combat us do that if there is an enemy down there, it can ambush you and potentially kill you.
Otherwise any fall damage other than a 1hko would be utterly pointless because yiu would just heal it back up immediately.

One could argue that a 50ft+ fall would do considerably more damage than being burned, slashed, or shot (depending on where the arrow/bullet hits). In most cases a fall from that height is in fact lethal whereas people survive being shot, burned, and slashed on a somewhat regular basis.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Ok here is a test run off the top of a cliff and see if you can keep moving at the same speed that you were running when you hit the bottom. I highly doubt you would still be running. More than likely you will stop. After landing from any type of fall your speed before the fall will always be higher than the speed after hitting the ground.
Also in combat means having any debuff or take damage. If you take damage from a distant source (aka treb or ground) you will regen faster and get out of combat faster. So overall its not that bad and not something you should take seriously. In short don’t be stupid.

Honestly, that’s the sole reason I hate the fall damage when playing on my ranger.
