so i bought the heart of thorns expansion today. got my free level 80 so i decided since i play my warrior the most to boost him. well i had like 30 % of the map unlocked. now that i’m 80 is there any reason i would want to complete the map still? i’m guessing yes for waypoint but, what are others thought on this?

Upto you really, you can just get certain waypoints for world bosses and dungeons and leave it at that.
If you want to know the main things You’ll get for 100%Tyria, they are;
-1 Mastery Point for central Tyria.
-Random loot plus either a Transmutation charge or a Black lion key per map you complete.
-A fair amount of Karma for doing so.
-2 Gifts of Exploration, should you want to make a legendary (or Scribe a Tyrian Globe for your guild hall)
-Plus, of course the right to waypoint anywhere.

Is it worth it for you?

FWIW, one common approach to map completion is to explore fully the zone any zone that has the “daily event completer” tied to it. Which, also, is something that is convenient (but hardly mandatory) to have the world fully explored for.

Uh, I’d actually encourage you to do it, though. If nothing else, it’s a pretty place, and most of the vistas, and pois, are tied to things worth at least seeing once. Many of the hearts are pretty good, too, IMO, as long as you are not treating them like a chore.

(eg: if you don’t have fun doing it, move on, come back later if and only if you care.)

I suppose if you play 24/7 over the weekend you could do it, but remember, your character level and effectiveness is shifted to fit the level of the zone, and even the area within the zone you are playing in. You’ll be stronger than a regular player of the same level by a long shot, but it won’t be a ‘face roll’ like you might be thinking.

Just … don’t bring yourself to dislike the game because you grind too much. You don’t have to. Take your time and enjoy things.

Yes still do it. It will help you in the future events and living stories having the maps unlocked. Also doing all the maps will give you a nice chance at free bltc keys.

I have done world complete on about 11 chars now, VERY worth it imo. :P
