Q:
metamorphosis
We manage to kill them before they evolve.
They are all baby Charr.
Could be a more mobile phase of the worms. Though it would be neat to look up one day and see a giant moth coming at you. Then again could be larval dragons, just think of the good you are doing while decimating the population.
We manage to kill them before they evolve.
But if we are doing that, then how are there still larvae hatching? Parents need to be laying the eggs somehow…
Grubs are actually Wurm Larvae.
Grubs are actually Wurm Larvae.
But we have wurm hatchlings. I dunno, the name sort of implies they just recently hatched.
Larvae > Hatchlings > adult wurms?
We don’t know their live cycle, they could have the grub phase hatching for years and eventually become….
ROLLERBEETLES!!!!
Bring back roller beetles! Bring back beetle racing!
You heard it here first. lol

Agreed on both counts.
Some invertebrates spend years in their larval stage before undergoing metamorphosis and it could be that the various grubs we see around Tyria are like that. (This is how you get ‘plagues’ of insects seemingly appearing out of nowhere every few years and then disappearing again for years.) It could be that the grubs we see around Tyria are one of those. Or the adult form could live in a totally different environment – deep underground, or in the sea or so high up in the air we can’t see them.
(Although there are several kinds of giant insects seen in the game, so they could account for some of the grubs too. Like Corpseflies, and Dragonflies and Fireflies.)
But I’m also completely in favour of bringing back Rollerbeetles and beetle racing!
