Why do some recipes require the character to be level 80?

The reason I ask this is because I am working towards the fine dining achievement and it requires me to consume 2 recipes one of which requires the character to be level 80, but I have my chef on an alt I hardly use and subsequently not level 80.
So, is my only option to get the achievement is to get the character to level 80, our use it on an alt that does not have chef?

you can buy the food and use it. The achievement is not tied to one character, its account wide. And foods/gear are tied to player level because of their strengths.

Can you not craft the food with your Level 400 (or whatever) Chef, and pass it to your Level 80 character?

he says the recipe requires him to be lvl 80, and the toon he maxed chef with is not lvl 80

if your talking about the feast of truffle steak dinner recipe, then yes you need to be lvl 80 to actually use the recipe for crafting, but I think you can still learn it by double clicking it

No, I tried it just now you can’t account bind it then consume it when the character reaches level 80, guess I have to grind to level 80 then, thanks for the reply anyway.

It’s the opposite. You could probably craft it at any character level, but you can’t, because to learn the recipe you need to be a level 80.
