hey! all mini pets are wonderful, some are more fortunate then others being able to obtain full sets & beyond. i have a complaint though, that owners of mini pet series 1 compared to owners of mini set 2 or 2 & 3, get the same title. which at the time being is miniature collector. i would wish quickly development for the miniature series, that owners of all sets or 2 sets, get a better title then owners of 1 set. also there should be room for rarer titles like collector of 100 minis, collector of 200 minis. maybe even 250 or 300. i also see a future for the minis, that gives players an aura while having a mini companion in game, maybe pvp too. where the auras vary depending on which pet you have. the bonuses should be fair & more & more minis would be sought after. a good thing for sales division, & also a good bonus for us players. i.e. this could be a special permanent boon. i have no idea what happens when all players use 1 each. maybe you have some views or suggestions. thanx for reading

Please no auras for something as easy obtain as minis. A special mini? Maybe. All minis? No.

I’d prefer no auras for any minis. I love minis and I’m working towards collecting all of them but I don’t like auras and it’d be annoying to have to avoid using certain minis because of the effect. (Alternatively maybe there could be a way to turn it off, but Anet don’t have a great track record with adding options like that so it’s unlikely to happen.)

I do agree that sets 2 and 3 could get titles, it seems odd that only set 1 has it. Not better titles necessarily since they’re not harder to complete, in fact I think set 3 is cheaper/easier, but it would make sense for all 3 collections to award titles.

anyway some new minis could appear with auras probably, my intention was to make the minis more worthwhile. by giving them a function, rather then just the aesthetics. so an expensive mini like the karka, or a rare pet like the risen priest of balthazar for example would have an aura or boon or whatever it can be made into, that is most sought after, compared to a hoho tron that would give low end aura. i guess the minis would become more interesting with a stat on it that can be useful. so i reckon the market for minis would rise. i have thought about the mass effect of an aura, that the richest or most skillful for example player gives the entire party, this would not be fair if he has a karka & other players with less money or skill will automatically get his aura. so i reckon aura/boon minis should be personal. what you all think?

i think “emphat” titles or similar would be nice titles for collectors of minis that have them in quantities like 100-200-300. you say maybe minis are easy to get but, they sure costed me some gold.

I seriously hope that stats, boons, auras, etc are never added to minipets

They are a cosmetic toy, not at all supposed to be useful.

There is likely 0 chance of stats or auras – if only because it would be a huge amount of work to go through such a backlist of minis and add stats/auras dependant on a mini. Plus the minis would need to re-coded for a purpose not originally made for. Not worth the unnecessary time and effort.

I could envision a title or exclusive pet based on your catalogue, but I would doubt it’s something they would go back and add at this stage.

The only thing I wish out of minis is for them to be as fast a ranger pet/minion. They are too slow

randulf: we like huge amounts of work, only i see it as a simple task! & i would say players want this, since it will benefit them. plus you grow extra fond of your minis. what more reason do you need?

The karka mini is one of the most valuable items in the game. To me that suggests Anet doesn’t need to do anything to make it desirable, any more than they do for legendary weapons or invisible shoes or any of the other incredibly expensive items.

There is already a market for minis – dozens of them are bought every day, if not hundreds, for a whole variety of reasons. Some people buy specific minis because they like that particular one, some collect all of them, some get only the ones needed to complete the collections or get the title or whatever else.

I appreciate that you’ve got an idea you think would be cool, but you’re trying to fix a problem which simply doesn’t exist. Anet don’t need to encourage people to buy mini pets so asking them to put in a huge amount of work to design a bunch of new effects and change how minis work to accommodate them makes no sense at all.

Though I’m sure Anet had planned to add Polymock at one point, it currently appears that nothing is—or ever will be—happening with it. However, if they did get back to it (there already is an existing Polymock arenas area in Rata Sum, and, if it wasn’t removed, an Asura npc working on building an Asura gate to the polymock arenas) and make it so that unlocked minipets are used to decide what creatures you play as, that would be an immensely rewarding addition for those that collect minipets. Polymock could just act as a far more organized, rewarding, and expansive version of costume brawl.

my intention was to make the minis more worthwhile.

Why? Mini pets already do well for their intended function: a little bit of fluff.

I’d like to see the UI improve (sort options, such as alphabetical, size, acquisition method, …), allow for randomization among a random set selected by the player, etc.

However, I don’t think they should be anything other than what they already are: the occasional random drop or a collection reward.

Ok, Polymock with minis is something I’d love to see.

Although balance could be difficult. Can you imagine a mini Tequatl fighting a mini Ho-ho-tron? But I’m sure there’s a way around that. Maybe creating different tiers and you can only fight ones within the same tier. Or simply not basing the abilities and hit points on the real things, but that might be a bit weird.
