mysterious BLTC chest flipper back!
Yep, supply has been dropping quite a bit. Pretty sure it finally exposed crusty old high price chests that have been there forever. Of course this means the price will be undercut with each seller while bidders will keep lowering the bid to entice players to think they can flip for profit.
I guess that between the key sale and the new “secret prize inside” the last patch (or was it the one before that?) might drive up demand. I have like 90 taking up a slot in my bank so I’m not looking to buy. Sell maybe.
RIP City of Heroes
Who’s buying up all these chests, I wonder? O.o Are there really that many “whales” or “key farmers” out there?
I sold a BL chest for 1s 49c last week. That was the instant buy price, and it raised my eyebrows. Even when keyfarming was at its peak it was lucky to go above 50c.

Wow, how insanely bored is someone to do this?

very very bored. last time it was done, while it managed to be a profitable flip past a certain point, it required a lot of effort from one individual – you need several accounts just for storage.
maybe its a gang of Quaggas looking to finance their revolt against Krait :O
As bored as the rest of us.

I guess its a side effect of the recent small (undocumented) changes to the TP UI that went live last patch. One of them was that the Buy Button and the OK button in the confirmation pop up now are in the same spot, which makes it easy to buy large amounts of stacks of 1 item, when using a click macro.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Or it could be that many people really want the home instance items that are a possible drop out of the chests currently.
This sort of random “luck” I tend to equate to Champions Online/StarTrek Online with their “grab bags”.
So people get keys and buy up chests vs trying to farm them for that chance of the shiney.
I know I’d love those home instance nodes, but I’ve not been willing to blow gold/cash on gems for keys.
Reality is that it is probably a combination of these people and flippers.
