new LFG coming soonISH
yep ^^ finally!!!After 1 year that is ….
About kitten time!!!
Some may say it’s never too late but I think it’s too late.
I can see myself using this more than the site. For one thing like the site it’s cross server and it allows you to describe when you want. Unlike the site it has this cool feature though of showing what classes are in a party. If you see for example that there are a necromancer you’ll probably assume that it’s a bleeds type and won’t join with yours to not slow down the damage.
So, while this does the job, it won’t address the problem.
To address the problem of “LFG”, they need to add incentive and quality-of-life.
For example, in this LFG interface – there should be a subcategory called “Volunteer to Fill a Group”. This category will list all parties which have 4/5 players, or are older than 30 minutes. If you join a group with this, you can earn bonus rewards during the event.
Otherwise, there is absolutely no benefit of using this over using gw2lfg.com other than you don’t have to alt-tab.

There is a benefit. No one can list something under your name and grief you. That alone is worth it. And it has happened on lfg.com there has been more than one thread about it.

I like your idea for bonus rewards. It’s good thing people to be rewarded.I may not be a fan of WoW’s automated LFG but i can not say that it isn’t rewarding. What ever group you are forming while using their system you are receiving some kind of reward always.
I would love GW2’s LFG system to give some kind of rewards for using it.
And about no benefit of using this over gw2lfg.com?Of course there is one.The system is put in game! All those morons who have been complaining that there isn’t any useful ingame tool now may finally shut up

You need….. a reward….. to give you incentive to join a group? The simple fact that you’re doing the content and getting loot isn’t good enough?
Why the hell does everything have to come down to ‘give me something or I’m not doing it’? My gods, I have loot coming out my friggin ears just from normal play, not to mention from the LS this time around.
Someone shouldn’t have to pay you or reward you just to join the group. Do it because you want to play with other people. Because you want to complete that content. Because you want to play the game. Not because it gives you a shiny.
The sad thing is….people are just as greedy in real life….

Well, its true that rewards are given out like candy at a street parade now days, but if it makes people pay attention, then that’s all that’s necessary.
If you told someone “You’ll get a magic find boost if you help those lowbies do arah-story mode” You’d pay more attention and are more likely to help than “Lowbies LFG arah-story mode plz help”. Even if the magic find boost was only 1%.
With rewards or without rewards for me doesn’t really matter.I’m happy that we finally are receiving LFG system.
