So, I was just wondering, Since gw1 had 2 more professions unknown to gw2, the ritualists and the dervish, what are the chances that there will come another profession in gw2?

In gw2 there are now currently 3 light class professions, mesmer, elementalist and the necromancer, 3 medium class professions, engineer, ranger and thief, yet there are only 2 heavy class professions, warrior and guardian.

It would indeed cost great effort since a new professions acquires new weapons(hopefully the scythe like the dervish uses), new skills, new trait sets, but still if anyone heard anything about a new profession I would love to know

Only that the Devs (Colin, for one) says that a new Profession will, eventually, be released.

When? Anyone’s guess.

Maybe two new classes with the Expansion, together with another race. I expect it to be coming, but I don’t exactly expect it to come free.

I want to see swordsmen (: A heavy profession that specializes in dual wielding weapons like axe/axe, sword/sword, mace/mace, dagger/dagger, pistol/pistol, torch/torch, of course able to mix and match as well, but traits would heavily benefit using the same weapons in both main and offhand. Basically a heavy profession better suited for skirmishes and duels instead of large scale combat, but still operates similarly to the heavies we know and love.

As for new race, I want so badly to be able to play those freaky deep sea people with the batwings. I forget what they’re called but they’re so amazing.

This thing, there’s a race of them if I recall and I want to be able to play them O,O

Necromancer, Ranger, Warrior, Engineer
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma

We have a light nuke (ele), light duelist (mesmer) and light conditioner (necro). We have a medium nuke (engineer), medium duelist (thief) and medium conditioner (ranger. We have a heavy nuke (warrior) and heavy duelist (guardian).

We’re missing a heavy class capable of using conditions well. I’m not just referring to condi damage – warriors can already do that on sword mode – but diversity as well, including cripples and such.

Maybe a ‘Demon knight’, ‘Shapeshifter’ or something revolving mainly around torment, burning, immobilise and fear from PBAoEs on only melee weapons would be interesting. The idea being that if you get caught you won’t be able to run away, but if you’re far enough away they can’t catch you easily. Giving bosses abilities like these would also break stacking mechanics entirely and give ranged weapons some reason to exist in PvE.

You already have dual wielding.

We don’t have any ritualist (no, it isn’t guardian or engineer, lol) or dervish. Ritualists are exclusive for Cantha now and Dervish doesn’t work with role so I see only one idea – hybrid.

Heavy class with scythe weapon who calls spirits or casts buffs for his weapon (ritualist had that skills).

I would gladly pay for an expansion if it included a new race, professions and easier leveling.

What are the chances right now? 0.01% Though, that might increase in time. If I remember right, the devs said they want to expand the weapon list for each profession before adding anymore in.
