Got some nice and expencive runes in my exotic armor. Got some ascended armor ready now and ofc i want the runes in them.. How??

If its the same stat spread, salvage the old gear and get the runes out.

Not all gear can be salvaged (karma and wvw gear). This is a big problem.

I used the extractor from the gem store to get traveller runes out of some armor i don’t use anymore. Works great.

There is probably going to be a change with that soon. No one wants to pay 25g to extract a rune from karma/BoH gear. For the time being, compromise and buy a cheaper rune set/crests or just pony up the dosh for the runes you want and sell the old ones when you can salvage them. I know your pain, I have Traveler runes sitting in unsalvageable gear right now. No way am I buying an upgrade extractor to get a 15g loss.

I don’t use in-game gold to buy gems, so zero gold. I was merely stating that this is a way to get the runes out that works. If you want free options, that’s another matter all together. And 6 runes = 60g in game, which will just take forever now to get since nerfs.

Still a bad idea. 6 extractors are 1100+250=1350 gems, which is 1350/100*6.72g = 90.72 gold. 6 runes * 9g = 54, so you will lose 36 gold with such a procedure.

I’m merely stating that at this moment using an extractor, even not counting the cost of old gear, costs more than converting gems to gold and buying runes.

Ok… extractor works. I don’t care about cost. BL kit works. You have to pay for that too unless you got for free from dailies or whatever. Just go buy new runes.

Forever as in a couple of weeks, right? And that’s playing casually. Because if you replace the time spent mindlessly farming champs and replaced that with dungeon paths, you’d make that money in a week easily. But if you are in the mindset of champ train or nothing, then you will be very poor for a very long time.

If you just did all three AC paths alone, each day, that’s 4.5g in about an hour of work, not including any drops. If you have extra time to spend, throw in some CoF, even more money. 4.5 * 7 = 31.5g playing about 1hr/day (possibly longer at first if you just aren’t used to AC, but once you get a regular thing going, each path should take ~15-20min.

So. There you go.

Well here’s a case of not everyone playing the same. I don’t do dungeons because I can’t be “stuck” at my computer playing the game. Sometimes, real life happens.

Let’s not get into a whole discussion on how to make gold in the game. That’s not the point of the thread.

I don’t see how you guys do that. If I couldn’t buy gems and convert them to gold I wouldn’t be playing this game.

If you have money to burn on ascended crafting then you should have money to burn on runes as well. It’s too late to start counting the pennies.

If you transmute the gear you can take the runes and cosmetic from your old armor and just the stats from the ascended.
