this bites… i’ve been burnt out of the game since the pathetic excuse of the zhaitan fight, but i still play it here and there. found out about ascended armor, takes way to long and too high of a price for what little it does to your stats. tbh it’s not that much better than exotics. my drop rate is terrible, maybe i’m doing something wrong, i can’t seem to hit enough enemies while farming cuz they all die in less than a second. and i don’t find putting in hundreds of hours of farming to get ascended gear that fun. now maybe if AG was much better than it is now, i might put the effort into getting it. but i don’t see the point.
then i hear this thing about GW2 going free to play. i have to be honest, this makes me a tiny bit upset. especially since i pre-ordered the Collector’s edition which priced at almost $170 with sales tax in may of 2012. then sometime later my favorite class, the ranger, gets turned into a kitten all because of botters. let’s be honest, the ranger has never fully recovered have they ArenaNet? then i hear about this veteran armor thing. and i was like Ooooo! is this Legendary armor for veteran players, or at the very least ascended gear? then i get the answer OF COURSE IT’S NOT! i was deeply saddened to find out it was just a dumb outfit. why couldn’t it be armor? i understand about the power creep thing, but it wouldn’t have made any difference at all. it could have helped some veterans out who haven’t had the time nor the means to craft ascended gear. not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but imo it would have been a better move to make it actual armor instead of an outfit. nothing about outfits excite me that much. i did purchase the balthazar’s regalia outfit mainly because it looked cool and secondly about 95% of all the armor skins don’t look that great imo. i understand that outfits are easier to make cuz you can just stretch them to fit the races, but it’s also a bit lazy imo.
i’m sorry with all the ranting i’ve done lately. i just thought GW2 was supposed to better than what it is.
