Jup. Why add cool content when you can just tweak a few numbers, and ignore your playerbase?

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

I’m curious how they would do player housing. There aren’t a whole lot of games where I like it to be honest. EQ2 was really the only one, and even then I mostly just liked having extra storage. There are a lot of RPers playing though, (yes, I play on Tarnished Coast) so I can see it being very good to give them a place to meet and not be bothered.

Can you really not answer a simple question without griping? There are tons of threads about the new gear. You don’t need to derail unrelated threads.

Perfectly valid answer. It answered the question, and gave a possible reason why it hasn’t been done yet, or even announced. It’s like when I call the mechanic to ask if my car is finished, if the answer is no , he usually gives me a reason like…….we are really busy today.

I really can’t wait for housing, sounds like a lot of fun, and I really wan tot make and customise my own place and invite guildies over to show off that I have no life. (Not sarcastic FYI, I’m just easily amused)

Rift just launched fantastic player housing (works for guilds too). I’d love for something similar to be in GW2.

ArenaNet HAS to match or exceed Trion’s implementation of housing. RIFT set a whole new bar to instanced housing.

Being able to open up your house instance to the public and add/retract editing privileges is really cool. Creating guild houses, jumping puzzles and visiting other people’s creations is a very very very cool thing.

I think the housing in GW2 will NOT disappoint

I’m not sure it’s possible to exceed it. There are slight annoyances… but as a base to work from, I mean it’s practically a level editor.

I spoke to Colin Johanson about this at Eurogamer last year. It’s something they want to do and it sounds like it’s planned but that’s as much as he would say.

I don’t know why more games don’t do housing, it adds a whole new dimension to gameplay that gives players a lot more reasons to play. Just don’t do it like LotRO; EQ2 and Rift are the games to emulate here.

As long as the house included trophy stands, and trophies were added to various achievements, I would love this. For example; kill Zhaitan in the story and get a small statue of him to place in your home. Get X kills in PvP and get an ornate sword to hang on the wall.

I love that kind of stuff.

In 15+ years of online RPG gaming, you would think developers know what a player wants the most: to find and show off treasures!

—pretty shinies to place in the world such as trophies, decorations, and rare items.

Player housing could add alot of new and fun gameplay, plus new items for the gem shop. So both player and Anet could be very happy. Its a real shame it has not been done yet.

Yes! i agree. There would never be an “End Game” if housing were introduced along with all the new items and game play, which could be associated with it on a regular basis.

With major achievements the house could even be expanded. Getting “Dungeon Master” could unlock a dungeon/basement floor. Getting “The Emperor” could unlock a war room that has armor preview closets. Getting “Master Crafter” could unlock a personal crafting station room. They could go anywhere with it.

Story mode shows that Anet can easy create instances anywhere in the game world.

Houses would play like story mode with co-op.

Guild Halls would have to be run off of servers. And may require a monthly fee.

All this would be awesome and it could add such a nice dimension in playing out in the world- I would really welcome this.

No need for a monthly fee… Anet could make a huge profit in the gem shop simply by adding decorative items to use in guild halls and player housing.
