patch updates during non-DaylightSavings time
They should release the patches when they are ready. Not a moment sooner and not a moment later.
Not sooner because sometimes glitches get discovered that they need to remove and we don’t want them rushing to meet a deadline and miss discovering a glitch.
Not later because there are always glitches that get missed during QA and this gives the bug team more time to figure out what’s causing the glitch and fix it.
And they try to release the big, new content, balancing, etc patches early in the day around 9 am PST and the bug fixing patches at the end of the day around 5 pm PST. Big, new content, balancing, etc patches so that the bugs can be found and patched that day and not have to wait overnight, when some of those bugs could quite possibly be the ones that crash servers, which a lot of this type of patch tend to do. Just look at the patch notes.
Bug fixing patches come at the end of the day, except when server stability is in question, to reduce the number of times that players have to restart the client to download a new build.
Funny how you feel that Anet will reply. This is a player assisted forum. If you want Anet to take your suggestion, you should post it in General chat. As your post isn’t an Account issue (you can get the patch, and that is when they released it) nor a technical issue (see previous comment).
Otherwise, you don’t have to be rude to someone giving their opinion.
If you didn’t want people to respond to it, you shouldn’t have made the thread.
My feedback on when patches should or should not be released is just as important as yours. And I view my feedback on it as important.
You feel they shouldn’t come during US prime time, I feel they should come when they are ready and when they will be best able to troubleshoot any errors.
Neither of our opinions are wrong, there’s pros to your time table and cons. Just like there is to mine. I just view the cons of your time table to outweigh the pros, but the pros of mine to outweigh the cons. You feel the opposite. And that’s just fine. It’s up to ANet to decide which time table for patch release is best based on feedback from players.
I count just as much as you count. So if you’re saying I don’t count, then you don’t count either. But I doubt you really meant that. So we both count.

Actually, he DID post this in general chat. The mods moved it here.
Since it was mentioned, where should I start a comment like this in the future ? I often feel the desire to make a comment that I hope the devs will ‘consider’.
BTW, if you read it, I think there is no way to misinterpret that any player based comments are meaningless (unless you’re somehow in-charge of production).
@Seera, you remind me of an uninformed mom blindly defending Johnny for misbehaving. (even though he was guilty). Your comment was a rant, pure and simple – just like my second half of this post.
While I do feel your pain, the problem with patch times with a game played all over the world is no matter what time they do it someone will not be happy. What may be a good time for you would be a bad time fore someone else.
As to where to post a suggestion, usually it’s under the forum for that part of the game. WvW suggestions under the WvW forum, HoT under the HoT forum, etc. For this suggestion, I would have thought general chat would have been fine, not really sure why it was moved here.
As to other players responding, it’s a player driven forum. If you post anything, you can expect other players to respond and give feedback and for suggestions, the devs would probably prefer to have more feedback from other players to see how everyone else feels about the suggestion.
@ShiningSquirrel – thanks for the reply

My comment wasn’t a rant. Just because I don’t have the same opinion as you, doesn’t make my posts on the topic a rant.
You just seem to fail to realize that both of us can have valid opinions even though our opinions differ.

They probably saw the title and the word patch and assumed it was an issue with the patch. Not feedback on the timing of patches.
