pls lower amt of thick leather to refine
Yet another overcompensation to pull prices off the vendor floor…
3 per piece would have been fine, now that leather is required for patches. That was a great change, but this 4:1 bit on the top end is an over-eager material sink. :\

It was adjusted because there are far more salvaging sources of leather than other mats, and because leather is used less in crafting recipies overall than cloth or metal.
Basically, leather was overly cheap to utilize, so they adjusted it. Time will tell if it was adjusted too far, but it’s still pretty darn cheap.

Yeah but i can run around and farm 100 pieces of mithril and 100 elder wood logs in 30-40 minutes…there’s no way I get enough drops in that amount of time to get 100 pieces of thick leather….even doing events where you get a lot of drops, still no way to get anywhere near the quantity per time frame as node gathered mats. Thick leather is the only on that requires 4 and its going to be a much lower acquisition rate than wood and mithril, it should be 3 like silk because it shares the same mode of drop as silk. And now with its use in precurosr crafting its used a lot more. Leaf of Kudzu takes about 3300 cured thick leather…that’s 13,000+ thick leather pieces!! Please, Please, PLEASE drop it to 3 pieces needed per cured!
And yet Elder Wood is nearly twice as much as Thick Leather. There are a lot of people doing events in HoT zones getting huge numbers of gear bags and salvaging the blues/greens. I get a lot of leather, and I don’t play that much. I think that — at least for now — leather is at a decent place in comparison to silk/wood/mithril.
It’s very easy, you don’t need to run around to try and get 100 pieces of leather, if you can run around and get 100 elder/mithril in 40 minutes, you can do an extra 40m to collect an additional 100 elder/mitrhil, sell it and buy the leather.
Since woods are far more expensive than leathers, your farm will be a lot more productive.
Nah, it was adjusted because the leather has lesser uses than elderwoods or mithril thus the market price for leather was dirt cheap.
Anet made it “4” during HOT to quickly raise the value of the said mat because guild halls need plenty of those mats.
