Q:
possible to ever feel OP?
Dungeons are made to be difficult regardless of level. Colin Johanson made a post yesterday about how they’re basically around the level of difficulty of DoA. You’ll never be able to just breeze through that.
Also, check out Hardcore Adventure Box: World 1, World 2, Lost Sessions
Main Character: Dathius Eventide | Say “hi” to the Tribulation Clouds for me. :)
I’m lvl 52, and I feel epic!
It’s hard and exhausting to play “good” here, you have to watch out every minute, there ain’t no “BrainAFK Dungeon Runs”
I find it quite epic, to fight against that boss, Dodging his crap, Blocking his other crap, Keeping him off my other -less beefy- Mates!
It feels quite epic, being confronted with a situation you have to think first of what and how you do… try, fail, try, fail, try, success
Dungeons are hard but at the same time fun as hell!
I’ve never felt like “the man” in dungeons (other than mobs going down slightly faster)… but in Queensdale… yeah… Bring it on Bandit-scum!
Yesterday I played with a friend of mine who bought the game only recently. He made a Human, so I went to Queensdale to play with him. I was on my Sylvari Warrior (27) and Queensdale was unexplored land for him too.
Now to the point: it was kind of an unpleasent experience. Despite of downgrading, my character was so totally overpowered, he could oneshot the most enemies, for some maybe 2 to 3 swings were needed. Veteran mobs and even Champions, like the 2 troll Champions in this Zone or the Bandit group event boss in the cave, were easily defeated.
Maybe (hopefully) it’s just in the starting zone and later on it’d get more difficult being downgraded, but so far, I felt/was totally OP, even to a point where I thought I was ruining the game for all other players participating in this events, which made me sad.
The fact of playing a warrior amplified that “overpoweredness”, since the Warrior profession is already overpowered in contrast to other classes in PVE. Compared to my Mesmer (80) or my Hunter (20), he mows through the enemies, especially in dynamic events with a lot of them, the more the better, and gets 3 to 5 times the loot of my other chars.
You are supposed to feel like “The Man” when you skillfully complete a difficult challenge and not when you mop the floor with everything coz you have the power to one shot it just because u really shouldn’t be in that zone.
Achieving this is definitely possible however in a dungeon setting you will need more than one competent player to achieve this.
I never understood how anyone can feel superior or good about themselves in other games, running around and dominating the lower lvl areas just basically causing an inconvenience to the players trying to play the game correctly and enjoying the challenge of a new area.

Well I agree here, open world I do feel OP, I’m mostly referring to dungeons I guess, I don’t feel OP there at all (but than again I’ve only been to AC)
In sPvP you feel pretty OP and epic when you manage to take down the other team easily:D Also if you outmaneuver 2-3 players and killing one in the process:)

Wait till you kill a gigantic dragon and get 30 copper as a reward. Tell us then if you feel epic.
The dragon spend most of his gold on repair cost;b
For me the reward is killing.. Not the items and loot in general:D think that is why I acyually love WvW where other ppl feels it is not rewarding enough:D we became a spoiled gamer community xD
Like my work it is rewarding helping ppl, the salery is just a bonus:D
roll warrior, and kill people in 2-3 hits within a stun?
