Um…Elementalist or Engineer? No weapon swap there.

Though ele sort of swaps weapons a lot (attunements) and most engis use kits, which are sort of like weapon swaps. You may also consider Thief. While Thief can weapon swap, the fact that all weapon skills use a shared resource (initiative) means you may be be able to perform well with less frequent weapon swapping than other professions.

When I’m in the mood for uncomplicated game-play, I take my engineer. Two pistols, a bunch of turrets, armour that gives toughness and condition damage/duration boosts, and I’m good to go. It has a lot of fire-and-forget to it (though remembering to pick up your turrets helps).

I’m also assuming you’re talking about PvE.

If going for Open World PVE, I’d suggest Ranger, possibly Engineer or Necro.

Ranger can just stay in longbow (or shortbow or any other ranged set really), and pewpew and let the pet deal with the rest (They also works fairly well with a lot of signets, and pick up the Beastmastery trait line to buff the pet). It’s the simplest way to play the game.

Just for the love of kittens and puppies, don’t randomly fire that annoying knockback shot! It is really annoying for anyone trying to set aoe’s, traps, or just trying to melee the same grunt, when you knock them out of their damage. (Hate that skill so much)

The idea above with Engineer should work pretty well, main annoyance is that turrets aren’t mobile, so you have to wait on them to recharge every now and then. But Engineer really wants you to use his toolbelt skills (F1-F5) as well as weapon kits (replaces weapon) to get more flexibility ad options.

Necromancer can be played pretty well without swapping weapons much. I played most of the leveling with scepter/dagger and had a staff on the other set, rarely bothered changing since the scepter recharged fast enough anyways.

On the whole, don’t get too hung up about the weapon swaps, while you can make some silly combos mixing back and forth between them, most of the time you’ll just pick one weapon set you like, and make a “backup” on the other one. I almost always run a melee set I like, and a ranged weapon on the other set in case I need it. This goes for most classes.
