the queensdale champ train has gotten a bit out of hand, huge groups of people just running around killing the same few champs. And if you mess it up they get mad and start yelling at you! events should be done when exploring and having fun not by doing a and spamming 1

Ignore them. If they get abusive, report those that are.

Most of the train is all right. It’s just a few bad apples. Don’t let the bad apples influence your judgement about everyone who runs in the train.

Champ loot is also supposed to drop a little on the 15th as a tradeoff for the removed armor repair costs. Might break up the trains a bit.

people are trying to get as much as they can from champs before patch. prices on the tp have increased(…..because people pay absurd amounts… if nobody bought prices would drop…but anyway.)

Things will likely cool down on the champs after the update and once people start settling into the changes.

For now, go explore a different map.

who are you to decide how the game is to be played? Do what you want, block people getting mad at you, let them do what they want.

We’re always nice, we just ask that if you want to do some of the champs, wait for the train to get there and we can all do it. If you don’t wait, whatever, we’ll skip it. Play how you want and stop worrying about others.

If the timing for the Champs didn’t line up nicely like it does, we’d still have a train there.

And no one is doing the trains due to the 15th… that is just a slight nerf to the gold drop of the champs, it’s not going to affect the train at all because we don’t make money from the little tiny amount of coin we get from them in the first place.

If this train isn’t for you, there’s like 6+ other trains you could ride! I prefer the Queensdale Express simply because it’s pretty quick and waypoints are never contested.

Letting people do what they want does NOT include allowing them to verbally abuse people.

if people abuse you for “breaking the chain”.. break it all the more.. i find it utterly hilarious if someone goes nerd rage because someone else killed a champ.. makes me want to do it all the more .. childish yep probably.. but no one has the right to dictate who kills a mob in an open world

I disapprove of the ‘champ’ trains mindless zerging just for leveling. That said, if the chain is broken, tough. I would prefer regular players group together for them than the champ trains. The lowering of drops will slowly cause them to go away.

Here’s an idea. Kill the Queensdale champs whenever you like. The champ train doesn’t run Queensdale. If you wanna ride the train, nothing wrong with that. But if you want to kill any of the champs on your own or with your friends, feel free.

Let them get mad, call you names, etc. Meanwhile, enjoy playing the game however you like.

The problem is that when you have to report someone for acting badly it can impact your enjoyment in the game.

It’s really nice that some people can just ignore what’s being said to them. Some people can’t…or can’t as easily. I’m happy to ignore anything anyone says to me, because I don’t give a kitten ..but I recognize there are people who do, who are affected by verbal abuse.

Reporting them after the fact doesn’t excuse them for doing it and doesn’t mean that game mechanics that encourage that behavior should remain in the game.

LOL the most awesome statement on the forums there UKnortherner!

The champ trains aren’t there because people want to do them, they are there because they need to be done.

It’s a design flaw. They nerf all loot to the ground in the open world add DR and blame the gold farmers (who are still in the game btw it didn’t work), add some good options for rewards from the champions, of course people are going to do champion runs. If they had any kind of actual reward system in this game that didn’t suck for open world players people wouldn’t be doing the trains at all. As it stands right now the only two other places to get rewards are from mindlessly speedrunning dungeons or spending all day in WvW and we all saw what that did to games like Aion.

Basically they have D3’s AH (except there it was more blatant, here you buy gems first), Aion’s PVP (where it’s basically required), and the same open world loot practices as the many many mmo’s who died off due to DR years ago because they didn’t have the population GW2 still has

Remember – you don’t need to do the champ train. That is just a stupid statement. Why do you need to do them? You don’t.

If it is a design flaw, as you stated, and are constantly using it, you can get perma-banned from the game – read your EULA.

Gold Farmers are few and far in between. The only reason they even have a foot hold is:

1. Lazy people buying gold
2. One responded to a Phishing email that was ‘supposedly’ from A.Net.
3. Using the same password – over and over.

This game doesn’t suck for open world players. I have no problems and have 5 lvl 80’s all from exploring. If, as you say, it sucks, why does it. Just posting a blanket statement without ANY corresponding support means nothing.

Should we get rid of dungeons and lgf as well because of all the rude people that can be found in them?

I honestly don’t care about the champion train until I see them saying harsh things to players who are killing a champion at a different location.

First of all, you have no right to dictate how people play. It just gets on my nerves when that happens. This whole “champ killing order” was not designed by the game, but made up by players who want to control something that they have no right to control.

This the 1st time I have heard/read about this in these forums. Never been a post about it.

It’s generally polite that if you kill a champion you send a quick shout to the zone about it so 30+ people don’t waste time running over there. If they want to throw a hissy fit beyond that; oh well.

yes, it solves the “problem” just fine. And really, if anyone is so sensitive as to be stressed by reporting an offender, he should stay away from online gaming completely as that will always be a source of grief for him.
