If I transmute a legendary skin into an exotic weapon, do the trail effects and footsteps are shown in the new weapon?

You will get the legendary effects. Before the ascended weapon update people would transmute legendarys onto exotics because they didn’t want the default soldiers stats.

Doubtful. A skin of a Legendary weapon isnt an actual Legendary weapon, it’s simply the look of a Legendary. Plus unless someone has so much disposable income in the game to actually throw one away testing this, a concrete answer wont come until the 15th outside of an anet staff saying yay/nay.

If you really can get the effects without the skin, I am going for Frostfang minus its skin.
