So I was buying some trinkets and I noticed these two accessories are exactly the same. The only thing is one has a 2 silver crest on it, and yet it is over 1 gold more expensive. Why is that? I am so confused.

It’s because one is harder to get than the other. Some people don’t just buy for the stats, but for the item itself.

In GW2, Trading Post plays you!

There’s a certain exotic ring, not any more special than any other ring with the same common stats, yet it is frequently bought for 20g+ (not sure on price now, haven’t looked in ages).

It is in an obscure part of the game, hidden behind like 3 pre events, the main event, then a puzzle and an easy boss fight, that almost no one in the entire active GW2 population does. A specific class can make this doable every 15 min. It is also possible to solo it.

My pve guild used to do it 2-4 times per day. I myself managed to get the ring twice and listed them both at 22g, both were bought within 24 hours.

What’s funny is there is a daily chest associated with this easy to kill boss, yet basically no one besides our guild does it.

Why do people buy these when there are craftable versions with the same stats for much cheaper? For the name/rarity, kinda pointless imo.

ALL IS VAIN.
PvP modes are the “endgame” in all MMOs.
Stop failing at PvE, and fix WvW/SPvP. Thank you.
