Guild Wars 2

I own guild wars 2 now I am wondering if its worth to upgrade it by buying the expansion or just start a new account since buying the expansion also give you the copy of the original game . and I haven’t really done anything my highest character is 40. so , and if you buy the expansion how many character slot do you get ?

It wouldn’t matter. The only benefit would be having 2 (paid)accounts even though 1 would remain not upgraded. Character slots would be the same, and you would lose any progress.

If you pre-purchase the expansion, and upgrade your existing account, you get one extra character slot above the amount the version of HoT provides.

Standard Edition = 1 slot (1 extra)
Deluxe Edition = 2 slots (1 with edition, 1 extra)
Ultimate Edition = 2 slots (1 with edition, 1 extra)

If you create a new account with your HoT key, you will receive a total of 5 slots (no extras) on your account.

I have 2 accounts and it makes things so much easier, especially if you tend to hoard, 1 account I use just for storage, Dailies and to collect the log-in rewards the other I play. If I had 1 account that was still low lvl and was upgrading to HoT I’d start a whole new account but that might not work for everyone.

Use the older account to get laurels. Having two accounts is always great. I have 4 extra accounts. Bought them when gw2 was 10$.

Like zanchin said. You can buy a new account with Hot and connect to your old account once a day to collect the daily login reward. For 30sec a day you will get around 58 gold per month
