its by the vista north of the northern feilds in the gendarren feilds. its locked and there is now way of opening it (that i can figure out) i cant even highlight it. is it for show or something secret?

I found this one the other day. I have also found numerous other ones throughout the world. Kind of a let down that you cant open them to be honest. I’m wondering if someone knows if there is a way to open them.

Perhaps future quest rewards of some sort? Maybe it’s Anet pre planning

In the original GW there were places were you could dig for treasure and always get a nice unidentified gold item. Maybe this will eventually become one of those :P

Maybe that’s a black lion chest and you need the key to open it because if i remember correctly the description on the key says its used to open chests that drop randomly from mobs or are hidden throughout the world

I think Black Lion Chests are inventory items. You can pick them up from mobs or other places in the world. Then use the key from your inventory to open them. I’m pretty sure this is not one.

I have found random keys now i think I might know what they are for. to bad i destroyed them

There are MANY such chests in the world. I don’t think they can be opened in any way, since they’re not targetable

3 more examples in Queensdale: – inside the cave where the kids play (near the Inn)
- on top of many types of tree houses, both bandit and civilian
- inside the lake where the veteran fish dynamic takes place, hidden in a shipwreck
