I have extra weapons and armor that are no longer needed. When I select a merchant these don’t show up in the items to sell. where atr they and can i sell them?
By the way i am a newbie.

If they have no price looking at them, they can’t be merchanted. If they’re in an “invisbile bag” then you’d have to move them to another bag to sell them.

Invisible bags exist so you don’t accidentally sell the important stuff to a merchant.

how do i view the invisible bag and then move the item?

If you mean those early weapons that you get at lvl 1 and other quest reward items then you cant sell those, your only option is to delete then.

You don’t need to view invisible bags. They’re not invisible to you. Just to merchants. If you don’t know what one is, you probably don’t have one. You’d most likely only ever get one by crafting or from the trading post.

This is one example of an invisible bag, you can buy then from the trade post or craft (armorsmith, tailor and leatherworking can craft bags), but i think you cant access the trade post at lower lvls, you will have to lvl up a bit to unlock that feature.

You can use the TP at any level.

Items bought with karma/WvW badges can’t be sold or salvaged, only Mystic Forged. Then there’s inventory bags that make the content invisible on the vendor list, but I doubt that was the reason for your initial question.

Soulbound and account bound items cannot be sold on the trading post but at a merchant. But some items cannot even be sold at a merchant. Items you bought for Karma for example cannot be sold, only destroyed to get rid of them. Sometimes you get items from NPCs if you perform some task for them, and sometimes these items are not sellable as well.

Some of them can be converted in the Mystic Forge to a different item, some of them can be salvaged for material. But some are just sitting there and can only be destroyed. There is some inconsistency in the item system in this regard. You have to look what you got and try what you can do with the items.
