I really hope that a-net have not done this. The events over various days are marked at specific times. If this means a cut scene and people can watch this at any time, great. If it means you need to be there to do events and get even cosmetic items it is just going to blow up in your face.

Are you talking about the upcoming Wintersday events? If so, then it will likely be a series of events/games that happen yearly at holiday time. There probably will be cosmetic items given for participating (a la Wintersday hats in GW1), which will likely differ year-to-year.

I don’t see why this would be bad, it’s just an “I was there” thing. Like how people got that ANet baseball cap for playing in the fist week of the game, or whatnot.

For me it is not bad since it is in the early evening Europe time. People in the Americas have work at 10 in the morning people in Asia have it in the middle of the night. One time for a short period rather than over 24 hours is not going to work out well.

They updated the info for Winter’s Day on the main page. Tixx will appear in each racial city for an ENTIRE day, during which you can participate in his events. No cinematics, no one time only events. At 10 AM PST the next day he’ll move to the next city. Again, no cinematics or events. When he finally gets to LA you can replay everything again for an entire week. No matter what time zone you’re in Yargesh, you’ll have plenty of time to participate.

They scared of One Time Event, so no more One Time Event. Don’t worry about it. You will be able to enjoy it unless you don’t log in during December!

One time events are okay – One time events which gives off huge in-game rewards are not.
