when Gw2-team states “xy has been reduced in pvp”, my understanding would be that it is not affecting WvWvW.

It only affects PvP as in the mists. Not wvw…

When I read it i understand it as sPvP and WvW because both are forms of PvP.

I think of “PvP”-related changes as being specific to your PvP character, which is for structured PvP – not PvE or WvW.
