thank you guys for creating such a nice world.
but i have to criticize a little bit.

logged in gw1 and enjoyed it…a little bit new stuff after a long time. then i saw the gw2 patchnotes.

well…i just let you have this meme here. feel free to laugh and / or hate.

I still don’t get why people think that a game should celebrate ANOTHER game’s anniversary.

But then again, to be fair they DID add the skins, that they also added in GW1, with todays patch.

sure its not for everyone like this, but much people play / follow the company since years and enjoyed more or less gw1/2. sure its a completly other game but it plays in the same world and tells the same story…they are bound together.

when there was the birthday of the game, it was always something special…since i don’t know if you played gw1, i just give you this wiki page to show you some details of the event.

(you can look up all other events and stuff at the bottom of the page…well not all like when the mursaat raided henge of denravi and killed all players…was not rly an festival, but funny neverless.)

the birthdays in gw2 are more or less a joke if you look back in time and saw what happened in gw1 and the company was capable of.
what i really hope, is that in the future (and its just some months until gw2 birthday) it will get better and we can really enjoy it.

don’t see it as blind hate or something like that. i enjoy gw2 and give you this to think about it, so maybe gw2 will be getting better in the future, that is all i want.

when i played gw1 all events (wintersday, talk like a pirate day, wintersday in the summer, etc.) where something cool and u could feel the vibe, neverless wich place you visited.
i had this vibe in gw2 only at the first halloween and wintersday…after that somehow the magic was gone and all where kinda…boring.

Maybe it’s because Anet is bigger now or something, but I just don’t feel the same love for the game that Anet used to have for GW1.

Especially when they lock every thread that talks about gw1… or compares this game to that one.

I am half-tempted to report all of the official gw1 10th anniversary posts saying “Discussion of gw1 should be limited to the gw1 forums. No discussion of gw1 is permitted on the gw2 official forums” but we all know how that would go.

some things you can’t compare (like gameplay). some things you can.
you can even look at other companys.

just see riot. when you get no ban the whole year and you are not reported because of bad speech and such stuff you get a mystery gift at the end of the year. some guys even get a legendary skin out of it.
in gw1 at some point at the birthday u could get a tormented weapon (they where really expensive). but since it was charakter bound, it did not destroy the marked or something like that.

this are things you really enjoy when you get them.
when i see my 10 jennah minis and birthday blasters…well. useful? nope. i enjoy them? nope.
its just sad.

and i hope they think about that it the future and come up with some great ideas. i know that they can…they did it often enough in the past.
