With the current achievement system I have seen some rather questionable means to gain achievements much faster than usual.

Just today I was in keg brawl and saw 2 people outside the ring tossing a keg back and forth while they were on opposite teams, gaining an interception for the achievement each time and also 5 rank/glory for those achievements. by the end of the match, they both had 400+ rank points gained from that 1 match.

This is not the only shady farming Ive seen done. I have seen it strictly for rank points in spvp matches, all the other activities except bluff, and one extremely clever individual who by now I’m sure has maxed out all of his weapon master achievements by akitteng overnight with a 1-button macro.

I am of course not going into full, bloody detail about how these people are farming; suffice it to say that they are using the game in a way that is clearly not intended to get something faster than average. Is this allowed? Should it be reportable?

of course, if you think its wrong and you are doing it anyway, plead the fifth. I would like a civil discussion on this, or perhaps clarification from a GM. After all, this is a grey area: nothing is being done to manipulate the integrity of the game, there is just, as I said, a few questionable items ive seen over the past month.

What’s to discuss? It’s AP. You can’t trade the items or the points themselves. It’s all self contained and there’s already been tons of debate in the Dungeon forum about how reliable AP is for qualifying anyone at any given skill tier. It’s pretty much meaningless and the only mistake anet made was in having a “leaderboard” based on it in the first place

Thankfully those rank points they earned during the match don’t actually do anything. You cannot gain rank from participating in any form of activity such as Sanctum Sprint, Southsun Survival, and Kegbrawl is included.
